What movie should I watch first in 4K and with our new dual subs?

We just upgraded our home theater system to a 65 inch LG OLED and dual SVS PB-1000 Pro subs.

In our collection we have:

Jaws

The Blues Brothers

Mamma Mia

Apollo 13

Back to the Future Trilogy

Robin Hood- Ridley Scott version

Gladiator

Blade Runner

Blade Runner 2049

How To Train Your Dragon Trilogy

My wife suggested BR 2049 because of the bass tracks in it and she hasn’t seen it since we saw it in the theater.

I like that idea but I was thinking the first How To Train Your Dragon movie because it is shorter and might easier to fit into our scheduse plus it is lighter.

Any opinions on these two or any other movies in our collection?

Thanks.

There’s a few websites that show the frequency extension in movies and then rank best to worst:

Apollo 13 without a shadow of a doubt. And crank the volume for the launch sequence. Get those subs bouncing

Animated features can look dazzling, but will they really take advantage of 4K, HDR and Atmos?

If you got a 4K Apple TV, you may be in luck, as production values of TV+ are generally very high, incorporating all of the above. The screen savers alone can be mesmerizing.

No Atmos and no AppleTV.

Of that list, Gladiator. I'd personally go with The Fifth Element or the original Predator which finally got the remaster it deserved.

I would start with either Blade Runner or Gladiator. But it's a personal preference.

And later maybe try Pi (π), with the score by Clint Mansell. (Somehow, the the soundtrack of this move left a very strong impression on me... But again, it's all personal... :) )

If you were polling my young children it would be "How to Train Your Dragon" all the way, no question. But they don't know anything about subwoofers... or most of the movies on your list for that matter!

Not 4K but for sheer eye-candy black-is-black, eye popping colors all swirling around a great cast and a decent story line, Luck is my choice of demos. Once you do all your demos, do yourself a favor: the slo-mo racing scenes are why I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I first bought my LG OLED.

In case there is any doubt, the answer is always Top Gun :)

I don't see anything in your collection worthy. Maybe Apollo 13 for some.

Hehe, I just got a new TV and was waiting a while before I got a new player.

First I watched The Fugitive on DVD and boy did it look pretty darn good for SD. I watched some blu-rays from my collection for a while and now I finally got a 4K player (was thinking about getting an Xbox but said forget it) I only have a handful of 4K double packs -
The Town, First Man, Halloween, 1917.

I just ordered Apollo 13 and Casino also, going to do a comparison and see if you can really tell a difference with 4K discs. If it's noticable I think I'll do some re-buying of say Interstellar, Inception, Alien, Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan.

I'm going to get the newer version of that Spears and Munsil calibration disc, not sure what to expect as far as calibrating HDR, I figure as long as everything else is dialed in you should be ok setting everything on auto.

My vote is for Blade Runner 2049 (I got it in a double pack with the first BR, may have to get in 4K) I need to give the blues brothers movie another try, i didn't much like it before.....
