Better sound from my system requires better speakers, a much better amp or both

This site speaker decision rates passive bookshelf speakers for listening enviroments and as in many situations, pc = nearfield

There are just not many passive bookshelf speakers they rate good for nearfield https://speakerdecision.com/review/KEF-LS50-Meta

Diamond 12.0 good but not alot of bass https://speakerdecision.com/review/Wharfedale-Diamond-12.0

Diamond 12.1 better bass but worse for nearfield compared to the 12.0 https://speakerdecision.com/review/Wharfedale-Diamond-12.1

Diamond 12.2 poor for nearfield listening https://speakerdecision.com/review/Wharfedale-Diamond-12.2

A difference in depth of each speaker but same tweeter and different crossover but what makes the smallest speaker (12.0) better for nearfiled than the bigger 12.2 ?

On asr theres a thread: Passive near-field speakers? Talking about nearfiled the op wrote:

loudspeakers require some distance for the sound stage to converge, and if I place them 1 meter away, there won't be enough distance to get a good sound. Do I understand that right?

So basically what makes a speaker good for nearfield ?

Powered monitors (most of the studio monitors made for nearfiled listening) over most hifi speakers (also speakers like kef single source point speaker are not always good fopr nearfield according to recomendations from the site i link to) ???

Im asking, to get an idea what makes a speaker good for nearfield listen, (together with a pc, music, movies, youtube, games and for some video, music editing)not what speakers has the best sounds nearfield, because thats is a matter of personally taste, more what makes speakers sonically sound best nearfield compared to other positions like in a small room, mid-sized room, large room, in the middle of a room, in a corner,on a booskshelf or stand (only booskshelf speakers).

Even kef q's are not always best (or better ) for nearfield than many studio monitors and you have assume every quality studio monitors made for nearfield are good for that, better than almost every hifi speakers

Coaxial is always going to let you listen a little closer because of what @staticV3 said.

According to the site i link to, some normal type hifi speaker (2 way) is better for nearfield than speakers like kef q (single source point, coaxial speakers)

I don't know why some are that and ask: What makes a speaker good for nearfield ?

Add room correction (wiim) helps but not shure how much compared to nearfield studio monitors instead of normal hifi speakers, to get best sound using speakers nearfiled

Not so much a flat frequency responce but more the best soundstage, stereo image, quality of the bass, details and a good sweetspoot for nearfield

Im not saying they are more accurate but i guess the site has some experience and it does help to get an idea what not to use for nearfield listening, to get speakers that sound good or best, used nearfield

Honestly it doesn't look very accurate to me.
Do you have a more specific case?

Nearfield had everything to do with driver distance. Coaxial will have the smallest distance by definition.

This speaker decision site seems to be automatically generated (maybe not even AI really) based on the spec sheet of the speaker. I would ignore it if I were you, there are much more detailed reviews here and elsewhere. And comparing based on published specs instead of actual testing or even just listening will be misleading because some manufacturers are "optimistic" about their specs. I would bet money a human did not write this review.

As @staticV3 said the main difference between nearfield and other speakers is driver distance. Time alignment can help and you may want narrow or wide dispersion depending on your room and preferences, which will determine how you perceive soundstage.

Other than this, a good speaker is a good speaker for the most part, you look for the same performance characteristics as any other speaker, except maximum SPL can be lower.

Just nearfield (pc)

Probably the distance between drivers, what we keep saying. Still i would not rely on that data much.

like from the thread in #0

loudspeakers require some distance for the sound stage to converge, and if I place them 1 meter away, there won't be enough distance to get a good sound.

I have noticed same spaker sound different around 2 meters away compared to nearfiled

Every speaker can play ever kind of music but some donb't sound as good with rock music as other speakers do

Same for nearfield vs 2-3 meter distance in a big room or in corner not in a corner...
