i have mrx740 which kind of volume control of it to adjust volume level and pass signal to internal power amp section?
the previous gen of mrx receiver use njw volume ic, is it a digital pot to adjust volume at digital domain to modify digital bit data but attenuator volume level at analog domain

Digital volume adjustment of everything. Analogue input gets digitized.

It is unlikely that anyone knows the answers so your best bet is to ask Anthem customer support directly and you might, though I bet not likely get the answer. The only fact we know for sure is that on the AVR side, all analog input signal will be digitized, so pure analog signal path is not there on the input side as they reserved that feature for the AVM70/90.

Not fact, but my educated, or just logic based guess is that the MRX AVRs likely still use the same approach as the AVM70/90 and the older generation MRX AVRs, that post DAC, they would still use analog volume control IC such as D+M's NJU72343, or Yamaha's typically used BD34703KS2 or something similar. The NJW series you cited, might have been used in the older MRX AVRs but with increase channel counts they more likely would have switched to the newer NJU72343 that are 8 channel ICs

All just my guess, if you do get an answer from Anthem, please come back and share their response. Thank you.
