Heh, I probably should. I'll go out on a limb and say that perhaps Bill was an artist / engineer, and not just a hard-core coder..

I think we've lost everybody at this point though. Re: VMS - Bob Supnik (DEC) and other heavyweights have recently done a re-org and split on SIMH, now known as "Open-SIMH" if you want to run VMS that way.

Not really sure what headphones Bob Supnik uses though ... :)

Windows? Pffffft.
Linux? (snicker)
unixmultixprimeoswhatever? Give me a break.

What the world really needs is a reborn VMS. Finest OS ever created. You're welcome.
Actually, Windows and VMS are relatives, so to speak.
When Microsoft decided to create their first multi-use, multi-tasking OS (that became Windows NT), hired a team of engineers from DEC, including Dave Cutler who had experience on VMS and RSX-11 (that I used both when I was in college, before going to Unix). The kernels of NT and VMS share many similarities.

R.I.P. >> Internet Explorer is finally reaching the end of its life, after nearly 27 years of serving up web pages to Microsoft Windows users. Microsoft stopped supporting the Internet Explorer browser this week and will eventually retire it entirely.
