What is the difference between TV and a Good Movie?

Agree with QT and Amir here.
100%

In the best cases a multi-episode series is a long movie. This is where they use the extra time for deeper character development, but still provide a story with a beginning, middle and end that completes an arc of story telling. The typical streaming series may have elements of this, but they tend to meander along seemingly just to fill more time to gain more revenue.

Maybe if I record it for later. I can never predict whether or not I'll be somewhere that I can watch a new episode of any series within weeks of when it comes out.
I wait until they are through and then watch several at a time. (Maybe, if I have the time. Usually, I don't have the time).

The other issue I have but when I think about it is much the same issue. These series are a way of getting one to join yet another steaming service, hooking you, forgetting what is where, that you are paying for something once enjoyed but no longer use. I wish there was a pay per option that consolidated multiple options and services.

Yeah, I don't think that's ever going to happen. It would be great if for example Plex did something like that, similar to how Roon integrates streaming with Tidal or Qobuz. But even then, you still need a separate account and subscription for each service, which isn't the "pay-per" option you are talking about.

At least navigating, searching, and remembering what's where (and what's coming out) has been solved for me with justwatch.com. You enter all your services, select your country, and you can see new releases and search across your entire streaming catalog.

Richard Brody of The New Yorker made an interesting point that in TV, the director is usually a minor figure, and the show-runner and the writers own the glory.
Twin Peaks has already been mentioned in this thread. And David Lynch is the big name here, but he only directed like 6 episodes. (Though he directed all the episodes on the 2017 reprise)

To QT, I'll say that I find the BBC serial on Brideshead Revisited, or Twin Peaks, or Halt and Catch Fire, far more memorable than his movies.
Shit, comparing *movies* against Red River, 99.9% of them will come up short.
