What headphone(s) do you own ?

Have been playing the AKG K240 for quite some time with Shure pads and I quite liked it. As Amir measured the bass really struggles and does not like it, but for everything I find it to be pleasant. It has a nice and light encompassing sound with some fair detail.

Currently own:
HD600 / AKG K240 / T50RP / KPH30i / KSC75 / HPH MT8 / SR80e

+Dan Clark Audio Aeon 2 Noire :)

Loving the sound on these babies, fed by a JDS labs element, Schiit Ragnarok 2 or Qudelix 5k depending on where I am.

Yeah, EQ often does something I don't like, either. It's hard to put my finger on it.

Also, I think I'm one of the 25% or so that doesn't like the Harman Curve.

My AKG K-371s, which are close to the Harman Curve un-EQed, bore the crap out of me.

The Harman Curve seems to be designed for people who listen to a lot of dynamically compressed pop music.
(Harman Headphone Curve sounds good on Max Richter's Recomposed Vivaldi Four Seasons as well as pop music to me (not as good as on my speakers though, the violins aren't as good).....but it's understandable that not everyone likes the Harman Curve)

Pop neo-classical ;)
Think it's got reasonable dynamic range though. I did edit my post whilst you were writing yours - the violins sound noticeably better through my speakers (flat Anechoic) vs my Harman EQ'd headphones though. The differences between headphones and good speakers are probably quite noticeable in those frequency zones. I think it's down to the fact that good speakers are more accurately rendering the music in those frequencies than headphones (HRTF differences, etc). I do still like the Harman Headphone Curve for that type of music, but it's not as good as speakers.

I have an annual subscription to the Seattle symphony and end up going about once a month.

Grossly over-simplifying, generalizing, and ignoring circle of confusion issues, I find the Harman Curve not to my liking when it comes to acoustic instruments.

90% of my music listening is jazz or classical, which may be why I don't like the Harman Curve much.

I think Amir's taste in music, from what he posts in reviews, is vastly different from mine.

I think the differences are going to be more noticeable in those upper registers.

AKG K550 here. I use them on my computer via an old Pioneer SA720 amp. I find they sound best with loudness on and tone controls off.

Damm, i really think that i would be the only one that still use my old K550 (first version)... after several pads changes i'm still using them after nearly 10 years.

I couldn't dedicate a lot of money to headphones but i still have several of them (nothing too fancy :(, my current headphones:

- Monolith 1060: I love some things about those cans (and for 220€ i consider them "cheap") but the weight and size makes them a bit for uses like games or films, i mostly use them for music only. Love the soundstage and spacial quality and is the only one that i use with almost no EQ.
- AKG K712 Pro: My daily headphone for "heavy" use (gaming for example), very nice soundstage (but worse than the 1060), very lightweight and comfortable (with velour pads and the XLR cable from the Beyerdynamic). I need to EQ them to get the sound to fit my taste.
- Beyerdynamic DT1770 Pro: The ones that i use when a) need a closed headphone or b) i listen very, very bass heavy tracks (dubstep for example, in those i'm still fighting between the 1060 and the 1770, but i'm too used to the 1770 and usually i end with those). I also need to EQ those.
- AKG K550 (mkI): The first reference headphones that i love and the only ones that i still have after nearly 10 years, i relace the pads and the headband several times and they are still like new (still ricking and still love the sound), maybe the most confotable ones that i have (or i'm too used to them xD). Need some EQ on lows but ¿maybe? less than the K712 and the 1770 (not lows but mids for the Beyer..).

For some reason I cannot seem to remember, I bought AKG 3003i IEMs when their price dropped from $1200 to $600. Now I would love to get my money back. My Senn HD650s are my main headphones. I hope to purchase Dan Clark Aeon 2 Noires because I want to experience the tech of planars. Maybe I should buy food instead and Dan Clark Aeon RTs (closed back)?

I own some HD 650 (and 600, momentum over ear and Q701), and I'm looking at aeon RT open back or HD 800 to upgrade. Don't know yet what I want.

Had some recent changes, it’s now:

Grado Sr60e
Grado Sr80
Grado sr325e
Sennheiser HD660s
Dan Clark AEON x closed

At the moment I’m mostly listening to the Dan Clark headphones :)

Greetings Y'all. I'm new to the forum - but have gleaned much good info in my audiophile journey. I'm still learning what I like, with the edge currently going to the HD58X, or the HE-X4. Tho the AKGs are great too... And with kids the closed back is quite nice. Well it really depends on what I am listening too at the moment... And on and on it goes.

My current headphones are:
Hifiman HE-X4,
Sennheiser HD58X,
Anker Q35
and AKG K371.

My Dac is is a JDS Atom +, amp is Schiit Heresy.

Original 90’s Lexus interior looking HD598s, Shure 535, Momentum 2, airpod pros, LCD-2Cs.

Recently bought a Superlux HD-330 (used like new for 14€). Now I'm trying to sell it again.
With the stock pads it's rather upper bass heavy wich can be fun for pop or metal music, but comfort is just terrible.
The DT880 velours pads make it more comfortable but also a lot brighter sounding.
The build quality is what you'd expect, a cheap Beyer copy.

Regular price is 34€, and you get what you pay for. Doesn't come close to the HD-668B.

Also have a HD-330
turned it from red to green

Doing nothing... but have quite a few other headphones also doing nothing.

I have black colored headphones, the sound of which is worth listening to ;)

Most of mine are also black and also worth listening to. :)

HD800. Use an EQ and it's fine. Only thing is the pads wear out on my quickly and replacements are expensive. Friend's sending Orator his HD800 with Dekoni pads for an EQ. Imo HD800 is a fine headphone and I don't really get an itch to get another headphone.
