What headphone(s) do you own ?

Which headphones are better suited for writing arrangements and beats? Seenhaiser HD560S or beyerdinamic DT 880 Edition 250? Which would be the preferred and universal choice? Or write down your options. I had 770/990/900 - I didn't like it. 900 due to the tightness of the sound and the bass, which is normal in the ears but on the monitors a lot

Personal favourites:

-Sennheiser HD560s: Near perfect out of the box, perfect with minor EQ, as my listening levels are low and distortion in the bass remains low

-Sennheiser HD-25 II: I have used these since I was a teenager and I had to panic buy something for my first monitor mixing gig for a local concert for local bands. I got so used to the sound it's just natural to me and it took a LONG time for my ears to accept anything else. I love them and will never ever part from then. I don't care how they measure and don't want to know. We have seem the world together.

-Bunch of KZ IEMs that really only require a bit of tip rolling to sound absolutely perfect, also depending a bit on the environment and the general mood of the day - tonally they are quite different but that's okay as long as there are no sharp peaks, it's just a flavour thing
-PRX (foam tips or reverse hybrid foam tips)
-ZVX Pro (reverse hybrid foam tips or silicone tips)
-Zenith (bog standard silicone tips)
-Decet (reverse hybrid foam tips)

And the rest:

-Sennheiser EPOS QSP 670 for gamery moments
-Tronsmart Spunky Beat (I love this one completely unrationally, it's really not perfect, but it was like 15€ for TWS buds and it is not horrible and the name makes me giggle)
..also in my drawer are other IEMs I have collectes because Thou Shalt always have something on the way from Aliexpress. I am waiting for my Truthear Gate to arrive as we speak! Most are pretty good, some just okay and only the Juzear is awful.

KZ ZVX, Castor Pro Bass, Castor Pro Harman, Krila, ZS 10 Pro X, Libra X, Libra HiRes, Libra Balanced, Saga Bass, Vader Balanced, Vader HiRes

Moondrop Chu2, 7hz Salnotes X Crinacle Zero 2, Juzear Clear

Various entry level "pro IEMs", mainly Shure 215/315 models. What happens is you forget where you put them drunk on a tour and then you panic buy new ones and find the old ones later.
agree with you on the Sennheiser HD25 - I have used it fir decades when mixing radio and music. But lately I found a new favorite for the same purposes in the new ADAM H200

Listen to each headphone and get the one you like the most. Headphones sound and carrying comfort is a personal thing

My latest discovery is HD490 PRO - it effectively replaced my Fidelio X2 as a daily driver.
Still have a pair of HD600 that I owned since like 2003! I don't think I ever get rid of them!

As the Brits say, "horses for courses"...

Oppo PM3 - wired to my AV amp in the living room for late night TV listening
Audeze LCD-XC - my current reference phones; best when reclining in my La-Z-Boy (to support the 760 gm weight)
Meze 109 Pro - At my desk. These get the most play time for both comfort and musical sound.
Focal Elegia - At my desk when I need to be closed off. I can tune them to my taste with the Loki+.
B&W PX8 - the FiiO M11Pro drives these in AptX-HD for out walking, or at home from my iPad Pro.

Fiio FT1 vs DCA Noire X

How do you compare them? Which one do you like the most?

I like the Noire X more but the Fiio FT1 is an absolute bargain and it has one advantage it runs on my beloved OTL Tube amp
unlike the DCA
oh interesting

I didn't keep the FT1 because I have the problem of "warm ears", I couldn't stand it! does the DCA also keep the "ears warm"?

mmmh, that's difficult to answer, comfort wise i find both on equal level as i like both of the pads and had no issues with
"heat" even after long listening sessions, so i guess you need to give them a try at your local dealer before buying them.

here in France you can't test on site at the reseller for Dan Clark, you have to buy and test, then send back for the refund

Thanks for answering

How does the CRBN2's bass compare to the Sennheiser HD650, if you're familiar with them?

Better in everyway. The drivers on the CRBN2 are larger as well as the ear cavity so it gives it more area to rumble, plus as measurements show the CBRN2 doesn't have a dropoff in the subbass

I know the HD650 is very pad sensitive so a new pair of pads would be closer to the CRBN2 then a warn pair.

AKG K271 Studio - No bass, but because of this, seems clear enough, but the high price was never because they sounded good, more a way to lure new musicians and studio owners - the kind of people who doesn't think active studio monitors sound like garbage. Also, they creak if you breath.
Sony WH-1000XM4: Practical brain boilers sending LDAC microwaves (megawaves/gigawaves?) right between your ears and possibly out your a**s. The headphones unfortunately melted and can charge no more. Sony gave the biggest shrug ever, and was not at all concerned about my safety after warranty expired. Still waiting for the press release with an apology.

My headphone list. As a caveat, for those looking to buying headphones, I would first get headphones that measure well, then eq to find your sound preference, and try other headphones later which you may prefer. Everyone is different.

Over-ears:
1. HD6XX
2. Dan Clark E3
3. Audeze LCD-2 Fazor - my favorite! (measurements not great but I like the sound!)
4. HE-4XX

In-Ear:
1. Variations
2. Mega5EST
3. Astroliths - my favorite! (measurement not great but I like the sound!)
4. Crinacle Blue and Red
5. Ringko

What about a topic on the type of jack input for every headphone model that is reviewed OR let-s include this information on every review ?

I found it to be a pain in the ass that many models have non standard jack inputs; for ex. my models:
ATH M50x - 3.5mm proprietary jack, that is some rotating screw model...
Meze 99 Classic - 3.5 mm non proprietary BUT long jacks

I bought myself a balanced dongle, then I boght the balanced 4.4mm cable BUT as it has normal/ standard 3.5mm jacks -> it does not work with my headphones. So now I have to look for adapters. Pain in the ass, as I said.

This is not a problem, usually these dongles have a 3.5mm jack. If you believe that 4.4mm will radically change the sound quality by means of increased power or other parameters, then I agree, this may be an audiophile problem for you, but no more to discuss it additionally.
