A fan of modern music and enjoyed watching the original Step Up:

Acting and story are borderline and pretty predictable. But the lead actress, Jenna Dewan does a superb dance number and good enough acting -- a combination that does not exist easily. The finale is excellent and worth a watch by itself. She is married in real life to the male lead, Channing Tatum.

This led to a ton of sequels which have gone downhill to the point where they are just random hip hop dance routines. And even there they are not the best there is sometimes.

After a looooong hiatus - a Blu-ray disk! Micheal Jackson, Moonwalker - very clever stuff in this ... sound just through the TV, I've been too lazy to make more of it. Irked by it obviously being limited, my better half said, "Okay, magic man, make it better!!" ... a challenge has been set ...

Picked up the 4k HDR BD of Expendables 3 last week.
All the fun you'd expect from one of Stallone's productions with a lineup of every action/adventure star in La La land.
5 star video quality

Watched Courage Under Fire again:

Has been a few years since I saw it last which was nice as I did not remember all the details. It is an excellent movie if you have not watched it. Quite moving.

Yes, when Denzell would actually act a part instead of playing his idea of himself in all of his rolls.

Nevertheless I still enjoyed the remake of the Magnificent Seven with Mr. Washington.

Liked it, certainly worth a view, though you have to deal with the gore and brutality of war. Excellent story well told IMHO. The char that sticks out to me is an unrecognizable Hugo Weaving as Doss's ww1 damaged father.

I watched this couple days/nights ago on Netflix ... (just came out on April 24th) ...

Wow, action, lots of hand-to-hand combat, knives, guns, grenades, high power rifles, bazookas, car chases, truck chases, motorcycles, helipcopters, India locales, the full kitchen sink, many kills à la John Wick.

The story? Rich Indian kid is kidnapped and a mercenary is sent to rescue him (extraction). The kid belongs to a powerful man, and the guy who kidnapped him is also powerful, very. Story of two powerful men, and the rescue mission.

It's way overboard as far the action goes, but that's what it was made in mind for.
Bullets zigzag profusely, camera work is a piece of art (brings you right into the action, following every move and corner), music score is on par. Sound and picture top form.

Overall, for pure adrenaline entertainment without looking too much on the other side of the brain: 70

That's me, during a pandemic for full distraction of the senses without looking @ the dark side of the moon. Figure of speech for "brain".

If looking for an intellectual reward this's not it.
For a distraction from your daily preoccupation it might be it for you.
The only way to find out is ... extraction.
