What Have you to say about this 70's & 80's HiFi advertisements. Were "they" abominable audiophiles or did they Know how to enjoy music.

Maybe from the late 50s/early 60s: two ways of advertising the same:

... but while I think that the first photo was actually used for advertising by QUAD, I have the suspicion that the last one is a fake, does anyone know?

At least the first one is (again and iconic) about how to enjoy music: a man, his pipe, a wife - and a mono speaker!
