I recently found the Hidizs AP30 Music Boy, and the idea behind it is quite interesting. It combines a small Hi-Res music player with a serious audio setup (CS43198 DAC, balanced output, USB DAC mode) and adds a fun retro gaming feature. I also saw some reviewers praising its sound quality, which makes this combination more curious. What do you think about this idea? Does adding things like retro games make a DAP more enjoyable and unique, or should a music player focus only on pure audio performance? I’d like to know your thoughts on mixing Hi-Fi sound with a little bit of nostalgia.

A high res dap with retro games?, sounds suspiciously similar to my use of iPhone 17 with tidal, JM20 max dongle and suitable emulator download from the App Store
