Wow, I didn't know Thomas owned Vivid speakers. Quite a set up. Bet it sounds amazing.

As to the point Amir raises at the front of the thread, quoting Floyd Toole about the character of a speaker being the most important, which can be heard through different room environments: That had been my own conclusion based on years of subjective assesment of speakers as well. It was nice to discover, years ago, that research supported these anecdotal/subjective conclusions.

this statement is a bit absurd: Hidley/Newell Non-Environment and Don Davis Live End Dead End (and D'Antonio's RFZ geometrical approach to achieve LEDE psycho-acoustic response) are literally control room models with strictly defined requirements for consistent neutrality.
