You plug your DAC into the A10h's RCA input, and your subwoofer into the A10h's RCA Pre-output. When you turn the volume knob, the volume of the sub will change.

Looks like that's what he meant, it's your only choice, don't see a dedicated sub pre-out....just need to connect to both L/R inputs on the sub so it can sum to mono....

ps now that I read your post again, what do you mean by "amp" if not the Sabaj?

So you just use the integrated amp as a power amp? If you split the pre-outs on the Sabaj to both sub and amp/speakers the volume control would be from the Sabaj.

If all your sources are connected to the Denon, then what is the Sabaj doing?
now nothing, but I want to connect it between the denon's pre-out and the sub's input to control only the sub's volume

Maybe bigger question is why do you want to control the volume of the sub separately from your speakers then?

Denon PMA-700AE Pre Out -> Sabaj A10h RCA input -> Sabaj A10h RCA Pre Out -> Subwoofer
I can only turn the sub volume down, but not up, doesn't it all depend on the volume of the denon?

Yes, but if you increase the volume on the subwoofer, then adjust it with A10h, then you will be able to increase and decrease the volume of the sub.

What gain setting do you have the sabaj on? I think h1 is unity so won't amplify anything.

The wattage of the amps involved isn't particularly going to tell you anything. You may have to fool around with the gain structure a bit to find something to allow the arbitrary change of sub level within a range you find useful....
