What budget speakers you like to see reviewed?

Put words in your mouth? You referred to "the great universities of England" and then put down a dictionary produced by one of them. Either they are great and thus the things that come from them are great (like your mom's education) or they are not.

Driving myself crazy? I'm having a blast. Note, I'm not writing to anyone in all capital letters.

Have you let your frustration stop you from learning the correct and true meaning of "budget speaker"? I notice you quoted my reply you left out the clip from your suggested source on the proper meaning of 'budget' when used as an adjective.

One-up-man-ship? I don't remember touting my families education. On a fact based site, I simply pointed out the factual meaning of 'budget speaker'.

Peculiar, you are. As I am sure that I am to you.
Internet convention: cap letters means something? Nope, in my normal writing I don't write cursive & use all caps.
Obviously, for you, I will try to follow convention.
Because you are so wonderfully persnickety and so easy to rile up.
It's FUN (oops) for sure!
Not really, as you are, in fact, very easy to rile up.
Hilarious? Yes! Fun, NO! (oops, I slipped again)! Dang it.

It seems obvious that the $200 limit is too low when you consider that the suggestion was put out 5 years ago and we've had significant inflation since then and that's not even counting on the future effect of tariffs. The inflation calculator puts it at $371. My suggestion would be to put it at $500/pair give or take a bit.

Amir has tested the gen4. They are quite nice for the money. So it seems that already lots has improved since you heard them.
Not bad at all, always cheap, no doubt better than the first versions (and nicer looking too). They have objective strong qualities (a relatively even FR, silent electronics -which is rare at this price point, moderate distorsion at moderate levels) but, on the other hand, some flaws are still there : distorsion rises quicly with the volume level and not begnin resonances at different frequencies can be seen on the waterfall.

Not sure they're as good for me as Amir seems to be convinced of. It won't be my choice for listening or record classical music with these small monitors, even if EQ can relatively improve things.
For Rock/pop and so, may be they're OK. It's the music Amir seems to prefer to test subjectively the speakers - no esthetic judgment from me at all, I like listening sometimes to rock/pop too.

Let's wait for Gen 5.

I second the previous Chesky Audio speaker recommendation at $1000pr. Also requesting a review on the Kanto Ren at $500pr.

Hi! Are you a reviewer?

The Mackie HR824 was well respected.

The HR824Mk2 is the update at $799. But the MR824 would be budget at $279 each with Subwoofer HRS10. Mackie us not far from Seattle, so maybe they can deliver to ASR.

The SRM450 is a PA workhorse at $599, down from the price of their previous version.

All are powered. I believe the SRM and the HR824 used servo feedback on the low driver.

This is why I'm surprised more people aren't on board with the Creative Labs T50 ii, it's still being made 13 years later and cheaply, considering the decent quality of reproduction.
I like creative as a brand, even though I don't exactly use their stuff lol. They have been known over the years as some of the better sound card solutions back when soundcards were a thing. They also we're the first to come out with those xMEMS drivers. I think they try to offer slightly more innovative products in the value segment.

I just want the Adam A8H reviewed because it seems like it's one of the best budget three ways available (The A77H is cheaper and a better value, but it is extraordinarily wide. I would say for most people it gets ruled out on size alone). But I'm also selfish and I'm just lusting after this monitor

Topping MA4 ? What's that ? Topping have had a project speaker (don't know the code name) but nothing has been released, an maybe never will.
it has been released in china market recently, very affordable 4'inch speakers, around 300 usd a pair, aim to kh80 perfermance, so far all subjective reviews all good

obviously use may be different from time & place of where & when one learned it.
I have used many dictionary's over the years, Cambridge is one that I have never actually seen.
Probably because, it's quite new in the USA:

Wait, Cambridge doesn't qualify as one of the "great Universities of England".

And, clearly you do "give a damn" otherwise you wouldn't be arguing this so much.

But, here you go, from one of your approved sources. Clearly the usage here fits listing 2:

Good Lord, you guys would take the fun out of a FART!!

Party poopers!!! :-)

If you haven't figured it out YET, usually the more expensive speakers weigh a lot. Putting speakers on test stands is a back killer. Give Amir a break or send him a cherry picker.

Maybe, a WEIGHT limit vs a dollar limit is an alternative.

Regards

Do you have a link to this speaker ? I would like to see this speaker and its specs (to equal Neumann KH 80 -or its Genelec equivalent- seems pretty ambitious, even at asian prices).
For a western european (french) like me, if it's exclusively sold on the chinese market, it's only for fullfilling my curiosity.

and i think it will not be only in chinese market, i think they have not prepared well, the speaker is out of stock on the website now

I am thinking it may make sense to buy a few budget but popular speakers to test. Or alternatively members buying and donating them to be tested. :)

Topping MA4 needs a review. Seems like close to kh80 performance, for more than half less of price.

There is a rumor that a pair is here for testing.....
