What a great thread , it won't surprise any familiar with me that most of my books end up abandoned in a pub ..

Here's a selection of what iv finished recently, in the middle of or going onto soon... some iv had to buy again ,, some though non of these have had to be purchased several times ...

Good choices. I've read all except the Colin Crouch book. Think I suggested the last one to you.

Yes you put me onto Francis Fukuyama a few years ago ( thank you! ) , not that book I don't think but another one that I end up buying two of but then gave away to a bar tender when I finished it so don't have it anymore.

The book in the picture here is one that came as a 3 book series, I used to have the other 2 .., it's as if iv got some kind of a drinking problem..

Knowledge and Decisions is one of my all-time favorite books.

I thought I had suggested "Reading and the Brain", but maybe that wasn't to you just a general post at some point. The info about how our brain recognizes patterns is pertinent to many aspects including in regards to sound perception. In any case glad you found my suggestions interesting.

A passionate photographer who also writes photo-themed novels, how could I say no to that? AFAIK, this is the first of her works to be translated into English. Seems to be common for Japanese novels to be brief but packed with feeling, as The Lantern of Lost Memories certainly is. I caught one little (translator's?) error, but I'll let my fellow photo geeks figure it out.

I'd put my money on your memory over mine !

Three books on the go at the moment, one for the lounge, one for the loo, and this one for in bed…
