What are your opinions about Fyne Audio F500SP, F501 and F501E speakers? (which are better option for me?)

I am faced with choosing stereo speakers for a very small room (about 12-13 square meters). I have preliminarily chosen the Fyne Audio F500SP and the Fyne Audio F501 and F501E. So I am faced with choosing between more expensive, more sophisticated bookshelf speakers and cheaper, but larger floorstanding speakers with full sound. What should I choose?

What HiFi has written that the F500 SP excels in several areas, but is not as good as the best rivals in this price range, losing out to competitors that are more sophisticated (which rivals, who is better?). If not the F500 SP, then maybe the F501 or F501E (apparently the latter has been slightly improved in terms of sound, although it has a poorer veneer and is slightly worse finished). What to choose?

The F500 SP is 50 percent more expensive as the F501 E and even slightly more expensive than the F501.

I have a Yamaha A-S 1000 amplifier (with a Topping D70 DAC), and I also have a class D: SABAJ A30A.

What do you recommend? Or maybe Fyne Audio is not the best choice and I can buy something more interesting for about £1,500?

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Hardly ‘state of the art’.
or these,
Keith

Sorry to say, but this measurements and characteristics / plots don't tell me much, as I am noob in this area.

I suppose the first step is to stop reading ‘What Hi-Fi’!
If you stick around you will receive lots of recommendations.
If you would like really full-range response then you are possibly looking at a compact bookshelf crossed with a subwoofer.
Loudspeakers are the one area where you do have to pay more for louder and deeper.

As I wrote in the first sentence, the room is about 12.5 square meters. This is Europe – we have entire apartments here that are the size of kitchens in houses in the US or Canada :) LOL.

What kind of music do I listen to? Calm music: mainly chill-out and broadly defined POP. A little electronic, house, etc. I don't foresee a subwoofer, I would rather not have one.

I don't care about powerful bass or loud sound, but about sound fidelity. I prefer bright speakers, but not overly bright (the kind that tire you out during long listening sessions are completely out of the question!). It would be nice if the speakers had a good soundstage, instrument separation, and possibly good vocals (very important!). As I said, bass is less important. In summary, the treble and midrange are the most important.

I came up with the idea of Fyne Audio because we have good prices here (an interesting promotion at a local store). But I am also considering other speakers, in particular:
- KEF R3 Meta - reportedly excellent
- Dali Menuet and Dali Rubicon 2 - also very often praised
- Monitor Audio Gold 100 - similarly, high class for its price

A colleague from our national audio forum has an F500 SP at home. I asked him a few questions about these speakers and he says they have:
“Clear highs, great vocals and soundstage.”

- if he's not exaggerating ;) that would be what I care about most - do the measurement results and numerous characteristics confirm this?

KEF are a measurement led company, ideally you would audition a few ‘possibles’ in your own room.
KEF are probably the most transparent from your list.

Around 1500€, for a 12.5 m2 room, there's nothing I'd take over a pair of Ascilab C6B. And depending on colour, they are either available or soon to be available at Audiophonics. As far as fidelity goes, you won't find more true to the recording, except maybe the Kef R3.

Honestly for that surface I would sell the amps and get some nice studio monitors like Genelec, Kali, Neumann or even Focal

This way you will have compact speakers with great full sound, and probably some money to spare

All things equal, I'll take passives over actives any day of the week. If something happens, I can buy a new high power low distorsion amp for 400 bucks and I bet any repair outside of warranty will be more expensive, assuming it's even possible.

They will be available in March ( https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/passive-speakers-and-subwoofer/ascilab-c6b-black-p-20834.html ). I have heard a little about them. New company from Korea with some innovations and fresh design ideas. I am curious how they sound - none of the shops have them locally. Interesting ones!

What exact models do you have in mind? I have at home Focal Aria 906.

Unfortunately, the speaker output must be related to 6 walls, the hearing system, and the user's perceptive abilities. Unfortunately, none of these variables can be excluded.

I understand the reliability aspect, I use passive monitors myself (with room eq) and I'm happy with them. But I'm sure some Genelecs could give me a sound as good if not better with great reliability and serviceability

I heard some Fyne speakers at a hifi show, can’t remember what model but coaxial drivers. I was impressed, for what it’s worth. I’d say listen to the “better” measuring speakers before you commit to changing them.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about Genelec speakers at all, always heard them praised as far as reliability goes.

There's a reason I said true to the recording or true to the track; and not most realistic to you personally.

Sorry, I quoted you, but it was to explain to the op that the road is long and arduous. :)

For small room there are a couple of question, if you can answer them or even draw some schema, it will let us better understand the restriction on the possible setup.
  • How much space can you afford from speaker's front to the wall?
  • What is your listening distance, what will be your seat while listening?
  • Do you have any chances for acoustic treatment like bass traps in corners?
  • If you will consider 2.1, will you have a chance to move a subwoofer around the room, or it's position will be right close to the speakers due to space restriction?
  • How much bass can you sacrifice ?
