One of my favorites has the unique quality of being exchangeable for pretty much any other items shown in this thread:

These aren't great investments, but they sure do look and feel nice: Buy one to fondle?

Putting myself out on a limb here, as I designed and built it. Industrial design, perhaps loosely defined.

Coffee table in the media room. Thanks to my wife, it’s called “The gee honey, that sure is different” table. ;)

In mechanical design if form follows function this looks beautiful to me.

Lots of jewelry on that locomotive. I was working industrial for some time wiring new oil drilling rigs and water well drills and we called all that extra nice stuff the jewelry. I imagine the workers that made that locomotive really enjoyed their job and took great pride in the finished result. It is impressive for sure.

I salivated over this preamp as a teenager! Probably “Unobtanium” now.

I bet there are some Apt pre-amps on the used market, maybe only periodically.

I sold mine as I wanted one with a remote.

Ahh yes. The Isetta. Forever in my mind as Sam Lowry’s transportation in Terry Gilliam’s wonderfully bizarre film “Brazil.” A personal favorite.
That whole movie is chock full of interesting examples of “Industrial Design”...as might be created by a committee of ludicrously inept Rube Goldbergs...;)
I think they left the Isetta stock.

Consider the Isetta revisited by today's standards, 100% electric, very manoeuvrable in crowded cities with that sole wheel in the back ...
