Sure sounds like it. The "I can't believe it's not vinyl!" effect

Just dialled in a slightly brighter PEQ than I usually do (which erred on the side of polite because I could never get the slope right). But I think I have finally nailed it. Anything with even a moderate amount of reverb just sounds tonally correct and also totally uncorrelated from my LCD-2s. I know I'm wearing them. I know the sound is coming from them. But I can't convince myself that they are, such is the frontal image and degree of externalisation.
