What are we listening to right now..

...thank God for you tube...lo res beats no res...

...every time it verges on tedious it's like "wait, there's more"....

Every post about Jethro Tull, or Yan Anderson reminds me, willing or not, of the concert I've been to kind of 30 years ago in my hometown.
I remember he (while standing on one leg... uh... seen that.) and introducing the next song (which I don't remember what it was, maybe TOTRARTYTD...?) as:
"This song is dedicated to a good and old friend of mine, because he's dead and... I'M NOT!!!" with that emphasis. Will never forget.

Alison Krauss & Union Station - Arcadia
TrueHD Atmos mkv download via Immersive Audio Albums.
I could listen to Alison's smooth as silk voice forever, pure beauty.

I’m genuinely jealous of you.:) I’ve never been to one of their concerts. I first discovered the band around 2010 through a few songs on the radio, and over the years I’ve built up a small but fine collection of their albums. I also don’t want to go to a concert now, because I don’t want to ruin the impression I have. I think their golden age was over around the early 1990s, when Ian’s voice slowly started getting worse (because of his health problems I think).

Exceptional detail

“Silver Lining” by Glen Velez

My post yesterday reminded me to listen to Velez again. For the short attention span crowd at ASR here's a lollipop, under 2 mins. And a nicely shot film.

Puts those groovebox knob twiddlers to shame, dunnit?

His first solo album Internal Combustion 1985 has been influential is still in print. In the 70s he played for Steve Reich and Musicians and is on all those old good recordings.

The second Rush song I ever heard since I was introduced to them, in the early '80s. First one was The Spirit Of Radio. Once more, thank you, Tonino, for this huge gift.

Fantastic show from Moby
