Schubert's 9th symphony performed by the Berlin Philharmonic conducted by Karl Bohm. An old recording but a good one, it represents an older, more traditional interpretational style but is none the worse for that and the more traditional styles still have a place IMO. The complete Bohm/BPO Schubert symphony cycle is a bit of a bargain set, despite its age the recording quality is fine and the quality of performance is very good. Bohm was a bit like the equivalent of a favourite old pair of shoes, maybe not the best of conductors and getting on a bit by the end but comfortable and imparting a feeling of familiarity and not letting you down.
