Follows the original piano playing by Jan Johansson but with guitar instead of Jan's piano playing. Breaks up a bit into the song and takes a different turn. Superb musicians.

Tonight I thought I'd listen to Paul McCartney's latest album:The Boys of Dungeon Lane
, which was released a week or so ago. That man can undeniably (understatement) write good melodies.
Let's see how that album is:

Sixty several years later and nothing changes at all... I like the 7" mono version of this over the clearer stereo mixes...

OMG. Looks to me Anika is the man.
She's a pro so she'll do it with flying colors.
The question is more about how much she's going to copy Neil Peart's drumming?
A 100% carbon copy would be boring I think. On the other hand, something completely new wouldn't fit either. Okay, those were the extremes. I suspect she's mixing and matching. Mainly Neil Peart's parts but with a bit of her own creative contributions mixed in.
There will be endless drum videos on Youtube that will analyze it back and forth.

The iconic songs (ang, OMG, there are sooo many so far... sic) IMHO should be rendered as close as possible. I mean, if there is an iconic drum part, it needs to remain there, as close as possible. Think about "reinterpreting" Hotel California's solo... or the Smoke on the Water's main riff... nah, it won't work.
She'll possibly stick to the original as much as possible, and add her own interpretation / variations in small chunks, one at a time.
But this, man, it was close to my ears... see what her "A passage to Bangcock" or "Tom Sawyer" renditions will be like; I am confident, though. See, Neil is never going to come back any time soon... so we better stick with the best we have here. ;-)

You have a point in what you say. Of course it should sound like and be RUSH/ Neil Peart's drumming (arrangement, style and so on). Anika Nilles will mix in a little of her own. It's inevitable, she's not a machine. Damn, this is really fun I must say.

I'll have to listen to one of their albums today. One of my favorite rock albums, as well as Les Claypool (Primus), Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) and Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters) (R.I.P) favorite, inspirational albums. RUSH were really capable riff masters. It shows on that album:

Wow, she really nailed it... I tried listening without watching... so, we all know, but, man... I'm really happy they're at least trying for good to be back in town.
You know, it's not easy to replace such icons, it's a huge responsibility, and she feels it, couldn't be otherwise.
So far I am happy we can listen to them live again.

Was messing on my guitar and got into a simple riff for a minute.
Racked my brain until I realized what it was. I then just had to play the track with a view to playing and singing a one man version. Work in progress!
