I guess I should preferred the mono version, early stereo recordings is not so pleasing to listening to, what do you prefer?

I got out of vinyl a few years ago, so I can only speak for the CD. I have The Beatles In Mono box set. A few of the albums have both the stereo and mono mixes, and Rubber Soul is one of them. I do prefer the mono mix on CD. When the Mono and Stereo CD box sets came out I took awhile before deciding on which to order.

I also have the Bob Dylan mono box set and I love it as well.
