I was getting a new filter for my heater out of a closet and found this CD on the floor there. Ripped it to my server and listening to it now.

Richard Wright (from Pink Floyd). His first solo album - Broken China.

Now Playing: Steely Dan – Aja

BLUF: Cool, classy, and beautifully built; pure audiophile gold.

Aja is one of those albums that just sounds perfect. Every song is smooth, smart, and full of little details that reveal themselves the more you listen. The blend of jazz and rock feels effortless, and the playing is so clean it almost shines. On a good system, the sound is wide and rich — you can pick out every instrument like it’s right in front of you. I always come back to this one, and it always reminds me how great music and great sound can meet in the same place.

Now Playing: Eddie Graham Trio – S’Wonderful Jazz

BLUF: Smooth, natural, and full of classic jazz charm.

This album is exactly what its title says — wonderful jazz. The trio plays with great feel and balance, giving every song a smooth swing and easy flow. The piano lines are bright and playful, the bass warm and steady, and the drums crisp but never too much. The recording itself sounds clean and lively. A good reminder of how great simple, well-played jazz can sound.

Now Playing: Bill Frisell – Guitar in the Space Age!

BLUF: Beautiful, strange, and full of wonder; vintage tones for modern ears.

This album feels like a trip through time — part 1950s TV theme, part dreamy road trip, and all Bill Frisell. His guitar tone is clear and rich, and every song sounds both familiar and new. You can hear echoes of surf rock, country twang, and jazz warmth blending together in his calm, creative style. The recording is clean and wide, letting every detail shine. I can count on this album to always make me smile — it’s music that sounds like memory and imagination at the same time.
