Remember playing old counterstrike and day of defeat with this playing in the background, long before I exploring the technicalities of headphones and amps and all that. Little did I know that listening to it now and with todays incredible audio equipment.... GEEZ. Now I really want to listen to this on a full home audio system.

I got to see the Art Ensemble in the mid 80s in Edinburgh. What a show! It was controversial and much discussed in the following days.

Fontella Bass, that name rings a bell and I'm sure she appears on at least one LP in my vaults. Now I need to figure out which one and play it.

UPDATE: Got it! She's on The Great Pretender, a fine album that I have not neglected. And she was married to Bowie.
