Of course, you must be familiar with the original "Point Of Know Return" [1977] album containing "Dust In the Wind".
Sure enough, I had the (converted) CD in my NAS-library and I am getting flashbacks listening to it!
Our son was active in a top HS band program and via my association with it, I volunteered to help at the Bands of America National Honor festival in 2006, where Zander was the guest conductor for the orchestra. I listened to that on the drive down, then was told my job for the evening was to hand out the drink tickets at the reception--most of the volunteers being under 21 and unable to do so. When he arrived, I handed him his tickets and told him if I'd known that would be my job, I would have brought in that SACD for him to autograph. He was absolutely lovely to chat with!
I first heard this on a Linn/Naim active system by colleague had. This rig was made for music like this and Siouxsie was a huge influence in my musical tastes.
Another lasting influence has been The Cocteau Twins and Liz and Robin's later works as well -
Linn Isobariks may have severe flaws, but music like this took on another dimension played on that speaker system, helping one become part of the music (alcohol apart, I never used any other means, so the music and rig had to do it all really).
Fun '80s j-goodness. A large part of Mayumi Chiwaki's discography is on streaming (the Amazonian variety anyway), and I have yet to come across a bad album.
