I do not ordinarily listen to 2 channel music critically but last night it came to me that I need to listen to Janis and her Mercedes Benz song. It was glorious and revived my interest in 2 channel music after a long while.

Did you enjoy your experience at the orchestra? It’s been a long time for me for just an orchestra. Warren Haynes playing Grateful Dead tunes with the Pittsburgh Symphony when I lived there is about as close as I’ve been and that’s not really recent nor the same :)

I’m still on a high from the program. :p Thanks for asking!

It’s been more than two years since attending (too long), due to Mother Nature. Late September of ‘22 Hurricane Ian hit our home with 40 inches of surge. Took a year to rebuild, then October ‘24 Hurricane Milton visited us with water again, luckily due to some mitigation prep, it was limited to under 2 inches. We’ve been able to recover more quickly.

(Btw the Dead would be my most attended rock group by a wide margin)

Here’s info on the program.

The Schubert was especially invigorating. Ottensamer took off in the first movement at a more robust pace than Im used to. Made me wonder if I was going to enjoy his interpretation. All fear came to naught. It was for me the best I’ve heard from this orchestra. Rousing

Also we had access to the museum and galleries among which was a very unique artist using sound, light and physical interactive, “participatory installations “. Highly recommend if one has a chance to see his work.

Nice! That Bach Sphere looks interesting, 1128 speakers each playing a different piece of music. Wonder if the brain can tune in to just one song and turn the rest to background noise like when you have dinner in a lively room?
