Your Jimmy Page reference brings up the news of a new movie "Becoming Led-Zeppelin".
Official Trailer (2025)
A recent review discusses the painstaking efforts to employ the master soundtracks for the movie, including for the IMAX version.
I am to watch it on Prime tonight, when my mate finishes with her NBA addiction.:mad:

As a frequent visitor to “What are we listening to…” a thought came to mind.

Please try to recall the first piece you ever heard in each recoding medium, the approximate date and title/subject. For instance;

1940’s. RCA Victory wind-up horn phonograph; William Tell Overture (to the best of my recollection)
1950’s Brand forgotten, 78/45/33 mono record player; various pop music on 45’s, classical music- my first LP purchase: Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, recorded on May 30, 1958, for RCA Victor
Later 1950’s my first stereophonic experience at the home of a wealthy friend: a reel -to-reel recording of a steam locomotives moving across the sound stage…a life-changing event!
1960’s. For me, a musical desert through 1965 due to military service, then, once gainfully employed a Dual turntable, Marantz Model 19 (Saul’s Revenge) and KLH 9 Electrostatic Speakers, playing Beatles and Dylan, all on vinyl
1980’s. First Compact Disc - Joan Baez, Diamonds and Rust - compared to vinyl, sounded hard and sharp as broken glass, but no clicks, pops etc Also purchased decent
R2R tape deck with mostly classical prerecorded material.
1990’s to date - invested stupid amounts of $$$ seeking the holy Grail of Musical Perfection/Nirvana: phono cartridges, pre-amps, amplifiers (I have fond memories of my Audio Research D79B-gloriously euphonic playing through Levinson HQD System with a Koetsu Onyx cartridge).

… and now, streaming - using Roon, Benchmark electronics and Sanders 10e electrostatic speakers.. my musical tastes have remained, in order of preference, classical,, traditional jazz, modern popular music (NO RAP) and, now, specifically related to this thread (What are we listening to…), a world of music reflecting the varied taste of the ASR family!

Truly, an astoundingly eclectic group of music aficionados! To all who have posted and continue to post, THANK YOU! You have introduced me to some of the greatest experiences that I would never have considered, absent this Forum!
