Mine doesn’t get the nice machine :)

I’m reading the Puffin review thread now, you had mentioned one of those as well and the Google brought me here :)
I have two Puffins and a Waxwng. I converted one Puffin myself to optical out and my other Puffin has coax out that I use a converter on to optical. They all feed to an optical switch into my RME out via optical into a WiiM Pro for room correction then on to my Kef LS 60’s via coax spdif. Keeps everything in digital through to the Kef’s DAC. Straying off topic… sorry.

I’m weird, I grew up on vinyl and I’ve never stopped using it. Since CDs I’ve never thought vinyl was the best sounding format and never pursued hi fidelity vinyl, just always liked the feelings it gives me when I interact with it. Now I have the best sounding system I’ve ever owned and vinyl sounds amazing on it. Yet 80% of the time I find myself running analog direct with no subs and no room correction and I enjoy the experience even more. I imagine it’s because the flaws align with my memories but I don’t really care why.

You also made me think about how I’m treating my digital chain and I just ordered a cheap SMSL USB C to optical converter to try. I doubt it’s going to affect what I hear in any way but I’m gonna feel better about only using one dac. So thanks for the off topic!

"running analog direct with no subs". I'd starting to believe that this preference to records in the low frequencies is because those low frequencies were recorded in monaural. There is no stereo imaging battle going on.

Naimos club mix from Andor S2. For a whole hour lol. Original version:

As the sun streams in on a sunny and warm evening in Galloway, a bit of vocal led trip hop/electronica from Erika De Casier’s new album is just the perfect chilled listen
