Alison Krauss has a new album out:

I just listened to this on Qobuz yesterday. It's the best album they (Union Station) have made in years (at least the one I like best).

Sadly, it's been crushed to death with heavy dynamic compression. It sounded fine at first - quite loud, but not distorted. Then about 2.5 minutes into the first song the crescendo builds and the levels are already so loud it has nowhere to go, but limited and crushed with audible distortion. Ugh. Such a shame that great music was subjected to this. Capital punishment for the studio engineers is perhaps too severe, but at least fire them for destroying the music they should be preserving.
