playing loud less distance to the woofer than the legth of my phone is 103 db peak but 1.50-2 meters or there about is 86db avarage and sounds good, no shouting, boomy bass, just loud, medium bass, woofer movement
I bought these for twenty-five quid with two of the brass links fitted and bits of sh***y wire substituting for the others. I obtained some brass rod of similar 2mm gauge, cut to length and fitted them. I did initially feel the tweeters were slightly too 'hot' (they weren't in the event but still), so set about attenuating them a little in the +ve line to see what would happen. That's when I discovered the bass-mid 'terminals' were at the top... I very soon re-instated them to normal with all four linking rods the same as supplied, did the posts up tight and use them as intended with 2.5mm gauge cables and solidly fitted 4mm plugs, as is the norm here in the UK.How many times when listening to music do you look at the binding posts '? NONE AT ALL, LIKE, NEVER
Any other 12.2 owners experiencing a hot region between about 4khz and 8khz? I've always felt mine sounded a bit aggressive in that range but only recently had a proper measurement mic to test it. After several tests and changes to speaker positions it's consistently there. A roughly 5db rise peaking at about 6khz. I'm surprised as measurements of the 12.1 don't show this. Any thoughts?
I've EQd to correct and definitely prefer it now.
My crappy room with bare concrete/tile surfaces is still essentially flat uncorrected from 500Hz upwards (from ARC X measurements), and I never heard any excess sibilance with my 12.2s either.
So your case is pretty baffling to me.
You must not use the mic on some random phone, tablet, it's not good enough and you might end up with a to high lowering of the high frequencyInteresting, thanks. I think my situation must be a room issue as I have some big limitations on speaker placement. I've tried using Wiims room correction but the result was poor. EQ by eye was better, but my best result has been by loading my frequency graph into ChatGPT and asking for EQ suggestions. The suggested EQ is much milder than Wiims and sounds considerably better to my ears.
Yep, I'm using an IMM-6cYou must not use the mic on some random phone, tablet, it's not good enough and you might end up with a to high lowering of the high frequency
Very late reply - I tried the 12.0 with REL tZero and found them very compatible. I wanted more deep bass than the tZero can deliverso went in a different direction, but the little Diamonds and the little REL were a nearly perfect match.
First measurements of the 12.1i, quite decent:

In room measurements cannot be directly compared to anechoic ones like from Klippel NFS, even more in the bass/modal region.Thats about how my 12.1is measure. more bass at high levels mabye do to Dynamic Range (Instantaneous Compression Test) that erincs corner measure
Oh i have posted my measurements
If i want a quality compact sub that can up with the 12.1i what is a good one ? As the speakers and amp are not super expensive it's 500 euros or less
