Hard to believe Ian is still putting out albums and performing at 83
Not to worry about Aqualung. Ask Claude what Cross-Eyed Mary is about...
Wow, that's really interesting. I lived in London for a year, but was in Kensington, so I didn't see the kind of characters Tull wrote about for the Aqualung album. Still one of my favorite albums of all time.

Probably the most interesting explanation I got from Claude was Genesis' "One for the vine".

Hello all, on ASR from a retired EE. Been into this hobby for over 50 years. I actually enjoy the music, not just the equipment. Needed a break from Audiokarma and all the YouTube technicians and capacitor experts. I may bark, but I don't bite.

Hello everyone @ ASR. :)

I couldn't find a new members section so thought I'd start one... if that is ok @amirm.

I'm from Australia and have been a member of a number of audio and tech forums for well over 20 years.

So g'day everyone, in particular any other Aussies here (@Sir Sanders Zingmore).

I've lurked on this forum a number of times and thought it's about time I joined up!

I'm a little sick of forums that have become repetitive or worse commercial. I like what appears to be an independent forum here, generally free of corporate posts and BS.

I think I fell in love with audio and associated equipment when I was very young. Music is the language of the soul and taste is different for everyone, so it is always subjective from the human perspective.

Don't worry though, I'm not a "golden ear" type audio enthusiast... I have experienced all the old age threads on power cables, interconnects, vinyl vs digital, DAC's etc. etc. so am not here to go through those discussions again... rather meet some like minded people and learn more about the things I enjoy.

Thanks for listening.

Cheers,
JSmith
Hi All, another audio nut from Aus here.
Been in this hobby for over 40 years now and still loving it.

Hello everyone, new member here from Switzerland! Been in the audio/music hobby for around 15 years. I've been reading lot of great reviews here for years now, it was time to register!
Great you've decided to join in.

Welcome.

Hello!
New member here from SoCal.
Been into audio since I was 8.
My uncle worked for Harman Kardon / JBL in Northridge for 20+ years.
Our house was always rocking when I was growing up.
Work from home now, had to get my office dialed in.
Happy with my current setup. I would say I am done, but I still find myself browsing.

Geshelli J3
Geshelli Erish 3 Pro

Welcome - interesting looking system. Not seen those Geshellis before. What is the purpose of the odd "patch" looking connectors on the front of the J3?

EDIT - ignore me, I've just looked at the picture enlarged and they are internal connectors behind the see through panel.

Thank you.
J3: has 3x dual SS2590’s installed.
Sounds really good to my ears. Through my order conversations with Geshelli; it turns out we’re related somewhere down the line. Italiano. Small world. Highly recommend them. They were awesome start to finish. Think I will be picking up a Torc soon for my guest room project.

Hi,
Here is my 1st quick post on ASR before the other I target :)
First, many thanks for the tremendous work and emulation in this forum. High technical content, wow.

I was looking for a calibrated microphone <200€ (not that easy in Europe) and audio interface, toward (1) acoustic/audio measures and (2) occasional but serious sound+noise ambient measure. This led me to hifi-selbstbau for a calibrated omnitronic mm1c (unfortunately both not much discussed here), and to this forum regarding selection of a 2 channels audio interface. I ended up purchasing a topping e2x2.
I'm progressively getting familiar with the audio interface HW and SW. Next steps will probably be a learning curve on REW and adjust the sound of my car (or at least understand why it sounds weird to my hears).
Ah, if any curiosity, our hifi system is around Atohm Dzhari speakers (DIY kit), luxman preamp+amp, Vincent CD player, and the room is a mixy mess of a home office. In the living room/open kitchen is our other soundplay, with a tiny commercial Tamp (with its awfully scratchy pot) feeding DIY spiral horns.

Hi from Cambodia as a European,
i was always attached from Hifi Gear because i love Music. In the last years i traveled a lot and so i had a few nice in ears an Headphones but now i am thinking about some classical Hifi Stuff.
Welcome - you've come to the right place to find out how to optimise your cost/performance/value for any stuff you decide to get.

Here is my 1st quick post on ASR
Welcome also.

Hello everyone,

My name is Lucas, I’m 28 years old and I live in Paris, France. I’ve been interested in audiophilia for over 10 years now.

Having a generally scientific approach to things in life, I’ve always been struck by how “anti-scientific” much of the audiophile community can be… but I didn’t realize there were so many of us who felt the same way!

So I’m very excited to be joining a forum like Audio Science Review today.

I’m really looking forward to exchanging with people who share a more objective and rigorous view of audio, based on measurements, concrete data, and a clear willingness to push back against the many myths and misconceptions that circulate in this field.

Looking forward to discussing with you all!
Lucas

Greetings! First post here, introducing myself.

I am Magos Vox, a solo developer writing an Android audio engine, but I am withholding the project name and link out of respect for forum rules until I have guidance. Closed beta, pre-revenue, no company behind it - just one developer who got fed up with how opaque the Android audio app landscape is.

The engine's distinguishing feature is transparency: every playback session is byte-level hash-verified from decoder to USB URB, and the verification surface is live and user-visible. It is essentially a built-in null test at the byte level, running continuously while the music plays. I welcome independent verification - USB capture, null test, loopback - and would rather the bit-perfect claim be broken here than shipped unchallenged. ASR is the forum whose scrutiny I most want the engine subjected to; that is why I am here.

I had meant to raise this privately with an admin first, but my new-account status blocks DMs - hence the public intro. One question if any member or moderator could advise: what is the correct path for a solo developer at closed-beta stage who wishes to share a project for scrutiny and testing - which subforum, and what posting requirements apply?

Thanks for your time.

Respectfully,
Magos Vox
