Weird noise at the beginning of audio file

Hi expert, I'm a regular audio listener. There is an album that I downloaded from the internet and there are crackling / popping noises at the beginning of each before music starts. They do sound different but the wave looks interesting so I am curious if there is a term for it or what is the underlying cause.

On a more serious note, it's probably some sort of header or metadata that got misinterpreted during transcoding. This sort of thing can happen with nonstandard tagging in particular, e.g. ID3 tags added to FLAC or tagged WAV.
