I guess you could call a 1957 Ford B-GAS drag-car weird.
3 or 4 of my friends and I "live and died" to keep this racecar running.
We were either in the garage working on it or at the track racing every weekend of our youths.

I haven't decided what the first F'n stupid one looks like, but the last one looks like a Doberman taking a shit.
Never have gotten the lowrider slammed thing. Spending thousands of dollars to make your car sit on the ground in a undrivable manner I just don't get. Or jump up and down like a rabbit, for what?

The Leyat Helica was essentially thought out as a wingless airplane for the road. It was equipped with a large propeller powered by a small 18 hp engine.
The first public appearance was at the 1921 Paris Motor Show. Production was between 1919 and 1925.
Should have had a pusher prop. That would keep the tailgater's at bay.

The Phantom Corsair, was a futuristic concept car designed in 1938 by Rust Heinz (of the H. J. Heinz family) and Maurice Schwartz of the California based Bohman & Schwartz coach building company.
“Heinz and Schwartz based the concept car on the Cord 810, possibly the most advanced chassis of the era, the Cord’s engine was a Lycoming 4.7L 8-cylinder unit, supercharged to produce 190 hp and was capable of propelling the Phantom Corsair to a top speed of 115mph.”
Throw some tires on it that could stand some speed, and some reverse engineering (as the Lycoming 4.7L is set up with the clutch/transmission on the front of the engine [making the Cord chassis a front mid-engine design, thus creating great handling]) to install a rather modern all aluminum Chevy 5.3 Liter LS 495 HP, 473 Lb.-Ft. torque, naturally aspirated engine and see what the top speed would be.
Does anyone know the CD & frontal area of this car? Are their any wind tunnel tests on it?

I have no idea about the CD, but I think that the body shape might create enough aerodynamic lift at the top speed enabled by the LS engine to make a test drive "interesting".

I'll dig into my archive, from memory the visibility was very bad, front and rear. It had an inch and a half of cork lined interior to reduce road noise... There were a whole load of major innovations for the time, but many of them got in the way of driving it or maintaining it... Like so many experimental cars.

Besides the styling, some rather weird technology too: A sleeve valve engine and an epicyclic transmission with a preselector mechanism.

Probably not, it has the typical long tail used by race cares of that era that was quite aerodynamically efficient.
Also, the weight balance should be quite good, with the trans and engine setback from the front wheels and the heavier materials of that era used in interior of the rear.
I would bet that if the speed was limited to 155 MPH (approx. 250 KPH), it would be fine without any aero tweaks.
