I replaced my 30-year-old Mark Levinson #333 stereo amplifier (150lbs.) with a pair of AHB2's (2 x 12.5lbs). The AHB2's sound better, at least so far. I can't prove it, though. You'll have to take my word for it.

I'm not sure what to do with the ML333. I can't fling it around like I used to do.

Congratulations on your weight loss.
I am happy with weight and heat...

What are the AHB2 driving? What differences have you noticed between the ML333 and the AHB2s?

As a student in the 90s I could not afford Mark Levinson, but boy did I ever daydream of owning a pair of ML no.33(H) :)

I wish my amp weighed 150 lbs!

I have a 50 lb amp. My ears love it - my back hates it.

Mine's at 74 lbs. But as any audiophile knows, the heavier they are, the better they sound. Yes, this has been scientifically proven.

Then obviously, a 150 lb amp would be twice as good!

I can certainly relate to the poster who opted for smaller, cooler, lighter amps. I do wonder what my choice will be when I downsize.

Maybe you could have just put the ML 333 on Ozempic?

If I were looking for light and tight, I’d be willing to give Apollon a try. But, I have a soft spot for NAD, so the C298 would be on the short list.
