Weed thread, what do you vaporize / smoke?

Ella Fitzgerald recorded "When I Get Low I Get High" which given her extensive musical collaboration with the pot head Louis Armstrong arguably leaves no doubt what she was referring to.

"… Oh I'm all alone,
with no one to pet me.
That old rocking chair,
ain't never gonna get me.
'Cause when I get low,
Oh I get high."

I think the proper verb is "to vape" and not "to vaporize".

"Hey cats, it's 4 o'clock in the mornin'
I just left the V disc studio.
Here we are in Harlem.
Everybody's here but the police,
And they'll be here any minute.
It's high time so catch this song,
Here it is.

Say I dreamed about a reefer 5 feet long.
A mighty 'Mez' but not too strong.
You be high but not for long,
If you're a Viper.
I'm the king of every thing.
I got ta', got ta', got ta' be
High before I swing.
…"

This thread explains a lot of things....

The Lord must have gone back to his workshop some time after the seventh day to command the land to produce weed after thinking that his creation wasn't fucking useless and stupid enough after all.

I was raised in rural West Central Wisconsin and watched family after family destroyed by alcohol. Spousal and child abuse was rampant, yet no one blinked an eye.
Only one of my friends escaped being an alcoholic, most went on to coke, crack, meth and raised another generation of destroyed children.
Myself, I drank whiskey like it was water during my high school years, rode my bicycle to taverns at age 14 and had my final drink 2 days before I turned 18.

Like most humans, we look for a way to temporarily escape reality and marijuana allowed me to do that without harming those around me.
Feel free to think of weed users as stupid and useless. Media has always depicted alcohol as a cool drug, like James Bond drinking a martini, but weed smokers are always some Jeff Spicoli loser who struggles to talk coherently.

Looking forward to trying what this plant yielded. Afghani Kush, photoperiod feminized (Zamnesia seeds), grown outside - except for the last couple of weeks when the cold and wet meant there was a risk of mold.

All perfectly legal here at the moment, though I had to harvest in bits and pieces and flush most of the fresh buds down the toilet in order to stay within the 50 gram limit for legal possession.
My understanding is that if I had cut down the entire plant at once I would have gone from legally growing 3 or less plants to illegally having buds which, when dried, would exceed the 50 gram limit. AFAIK at this point all the bud you have becomes illegal. With ~150 grams expected total dry weight, even 5% THC content would then have put me above the limit for a "non-trivial amount" (7.5 grams of pure THC), which is a felony punishable with a minimum of 1 year in prison. Weird result, that a single cut with gardening scissors to a plant you are allowed to have potentially puts you into prison, though not purely up to the law. The German courts so far have refused to revise the limit of 7.5 grams upwards for the entire system to make sense again after the partial legalization.

Here's hoping for a legal 2026 outdoor growing season!

I've tried many things in my life, but I've never become addicted. As a young person in Italy, it was pretty normal to smoke weed mixed with tobacco, especially on the weekends, and to drink enough to get drunk. I even tried cocaine for a short time, but I quickly quit because I immediately realized how much I liked it. I was smart.
Regarding weed, I only used it occasionally in company, but I always regretted it. It made me sleepy, my eyelid would droop, and I stopped having fun. I much preferred to stay on the alcoholic borderline of euphoria.
Now, I haven't smoked weed for several years and drink at most a beer every now and then.

This disposable is da bomb, albeit a bit pricey. It's very easy on the throat and legal just about everywhere in the U.S.

Why didn't you give it away?
Do you live alone? Otherwise, the limit applies to every roommate in the household.
Giving it away would be illegal. I also live alone. Even if I didn't, the law so far has been interpreted as each flatmate having to grow their own plants. As I said, a lot of things don't make sense about this law.

I was replying but... dudes I am in bed with some indica and listening to Flamenco Sketches on Kind of Blue... if you know you know... it is kind of powerful that if a meteorite hit the planet right now, hey you know I'd be mellow about it. But wow what a privileged world we live in. Us.

A must-watch for all who have been at it, for far too long and always under the radar.

Anyone planning on doing the "cousin-walk" for turkey-day? Don't forget to shop for it on Green Wednesday; which arrives pre-Black Friday shopping.

We were smoking bongs, daily....all day....back in the 90s.
I lost many years of my life, I would say.
It's such a waste. You drink, you have fun. You smoke, you just bum around.
Some use drugs and pot and then blame their usage as the cause of the problems in their lives.
Perhaps these people find that victimhood is a great excuse for whatever is ailing them in life.
Sad!:(

[I know -in advance- that I will not be liked for this posit!]

I want to clarify that it's illegal in France, and therefore it fuels a drug trade, with gangs becoming victims because they end up killing each other, and a lot of dirty money that needs laundering. So I'm in favor of controlled legalization, like in some European countries.

That said, even though I smoked a lot at one point, I'm convinced that for a small number of people with a predisposition to mental health issues, it can turn into addiction and dangerous psychoses. I have specific examples of this in my own circle: loss of bearings, hallucinations, and ultimately suffering—it's an illness.

Of course, I'm not forbidding anyone from smoking; it's enjoyable, and there's a whole culture surrounding it. But you have to be aware of the dangers.
