Weed thread, what do you vaporize / smoke?

These days I mostly vape for convenience. I grow my own white widow sativa and that flower goes into my trusty water bong. Which I also use for vaping cartridges with an adapter at home.
(Pulsar GiGi H2O 510 Battery & Water Pipe Adapter)

For on the go, I love the Pax system, but of course there's a zillion others. Pax stuff in my experience is high quality (and you pay for it), but I am a moderate consumer.

I used to smoke daily as well, then became a father and didnt really want to smoke like that anymore. Dont get me wrong, I love smoking weed - but in 'peace' - with my friends or if the family is out. Damn when you sit there, stoned, in front of the stereo, you're almost in the music. Haha.
And yeah, as some say in here: 'what could I have a done instead of being stoned with the boys' in the younger days? I came to the conclusion - we had great fun, listened to a lot of music, going to parties (mixed with alcohol), concerts, festivals, cinema, playing video games etc.. All being totally stoned. It suited that lifestyle very well. So Im glad it worked like that and now that Im older, I smoke 'when the times right'.

Do you grind your flower for smoking?
I remove the stalks from the buds by hand than use an Amazon Basics hand blender (with cup) to grind the buds to a medium/fine consistency.
Then I use a DIY dry leaf vape (25w soldering iron with jam jar) to extract the THC. It's easy to tell when the THC vapour is finished, such that you don't inhale any harmful smoke.

In countries where weed or hash is smoked mixed with tobacco (like my native Germany) it is a gateway drug for smoking cigarettes, because nicotine is addictive as fuck and anybody who smokes weed regularly always has tobacco in reach.

AFAIK this is not the case in places where grass is smoked pure, or now with people vaping it.
Agree with your comments on nicotine. When I was in uni, many years ago, I was ripped off purchasing some cannabis a couple of times. The seller had some nicotine in the joint and one hit put me into a different world. The cannabis was poorly grown junk but I had no idea until I tried it on it's own. I realized at that point how incredibly powerful nicotine was and stayed away from it. My mother and sisters were heavy smokers and I didn't want to join the club. I should mention I still use cannabis but I only eat it after decarboxylating it, mixed with a bit of coconut oil.

I went to University in Germany. What we mixed with (mild) Dutch tobacco was hashish, which you had to melt down a bit as you mixed it with tobacco (and hashish burns poorly by itself). Wasn't bad at all, especially in a water bong (which has always been my preference to cool down and smooth things a notch). But yes, I don't roll joints anymore. I vape or purify as I smoke through a water bong as much as I can.

I really wish I lived in a country where weed was legal, hence I could more easily pick and choose exactly what I want. As it is now the best I can do is to pick either brown or green, but where I live brown is much more common so that's what I usually get. What exactly I have no idea.
But I don't smoke that much nowadays anyway, instead I got some hasch that a friend cooked with some coconut oil that I eat a small spoon of at times. I really prefer the high I get from edibles over smoking, much nicer and calmer somehow. And as a nice bonus it lasts longer ^^

I gave it up around 1991. I've done it occasionally since then. A couple of years ago an old friend gave me an oz or so that he'd grown. It took me a couple of months, at least, to smoke it. I still have the ProtoPipe I got in the '80s. In old age it's not as much fun. Alcohol is the same way. I don't get nearly as much as the intoxicant effect. With weed I get sleepy. With alcohol I go almost directly to a mild hangover after a couple of glasses of wine. I used it daily for over 20 years and was completely surprised how easy it was to give it up. Unlike tobacco, the craving went away in a couple of days. As far as brain damage, I think I'm about average for a 78 year old person. My former musical co-conspirator has never given it up. As far as I can tell he's not a lot different cognitively from the way he was when I met him in 1968 or so. My friend who gave me his garden product I've known nearly as long and he's no different either. It's anecdotal evidence. If there were a dispensary nearby I might try edibles. The closest one is about a 45 minute drive.

My plant is coming beautifully. I hope it will not rot away fingers crossed. First time I topped. This is a 75l fabric pot.

This was ~2 months ago:

This is today:

For next year, I will make a 600l corten steel raised bed that is open towards the ground. I was kinda tired of kneeling down to work on the plant, so I wanted to bring it a bit higher up.

I plan on making a living soil so I don't have to bother with fertilizer all the time. I have two containers of compost that have been rotting for a long time. Since it's hard to judge 600l volume I will fill it in stages, bottom will get old wood and other garden waste, then I will put all the old earth I have aquired over time and finally add the compost on top. I will then seed a "living mulch" like clover, mustard etc and let it grow to make a health soil food web: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soil_food_web

Then in april/may I will cut the mulch down and leave it, so the nutrients can return back to the earth and put a fresh seed in the middle.

I've already experimented with living mulch this year, so I know it'll work

I barely consume anything but man do I love the gardening side of it.

Question: Is "modern" marijuana smellier than it was 50-55 years ago? Back then kids used to smoke in the dorm without getting caught, but now the guy next door lights up, and the whole neighborhood neighborhood reeks of reefer. Did something change?

Aye, reckon stank is directly proportional to strength...
It's waay more potent than it used to be too.

I find Indica to be more skunky than Sativa (which is my preference)

Not sure if I prefer the George Benson original, or Tone Locs cover.

I love a good sativa. I usually buy 1/8 oz at a time a couple of times a month, but lately I've been smoking more so yesterday I bought an ounce to save money. This is the best I've had in awhile, don't let the name fool you. :)

I've been smoking weed for 55 years...
Got you beat by +1!
Vegas is home to the largest cannabis Superstore in the world, Planet 13, 112,000 sq. ft. with retail, restaurants, lab tours, etc... open 24/7... 10 minutes from the heart of The Strip. Just need ID proving that you're 21.
Planet13 now has a dispensary in SoCal.

One of the reasons for CA legalization was to stem the underground market.
But the politicians' eyes got all green and started taxing it to death: State(@15%), City (@7%), Sales (@9.25%) taxes.

My fave 2 DACs.
PKCT at the top has the ES9018 and Wolf mod (to YocanPro) is like a ES9038.
We live in an Indica and alcohol free household!

Taking a two-month break at the moment. I'm looking forward to trying the four strains harvested in during the time: Afghani Kush, Amnesia Haze, Wedding Cake and Monster Dwarf. None of it top-shelf quality since I do low-effort grows, but should be good enough for a nice buzz.
