Weed thread, what do you vaporize / smoke?

Google "cannabis rezept online" and you'll get a lot of results. I prefer the user experience on dransay.com - select up to 3 strains of weed from a large, easily browsable catalogue provided by a large number of pharmacies, complete a questionnaire (e.g. I stated that I have trouble sleeping, which really is a major issue for me), pay a fee for the prescription, and viola, legal weed. The first time I ordered for pickup at the one local pharmacy on the platform, since I was a bit sceptical about the entire thing. They filled my prescription without issue, and I assume that they are in a better position to judge the legality than me.

I've been smoking weed for 55 years... if it ever becomes a habit... I'll quit.

Of all the detrimental possible choices that would have killed me by now... my medical tests show no measured problems as a result. If I had chosen alcohol, tobacco, sugar, fried foods, gambling, opiates (or marriage)... I doubt that those same neutral test results would have been the outcome after a lifetime of indulgence.

You can pick your poison... or you can pick your enhancements. Cannabis to relax and Modafinil for mental ("Limitless") acuity are both the latter for me.

Note: Living in Vegas where dispensaries can be open 24/7 with free home delivery has fit like a hand in glove for an old "Stoner's" retirement. I'm amazed that I can get fabulous strains with 30% THC for $80 oz. This is less than what I paid in 1975 and FAR better.

I am in my retirement years now, and no longer have to worry about not being at peak performance at work next day after an evening toke.

My happy hour includes vaping Sativa leaf in my homemade vape pipe, and getting into an improvisation FLOW on my Tenor Ukulele. In my case I gave up trying to learn guitar, and found the Ukulele much easier to master. Highly recommended.

I see articles describing the Flow state, and they usually mention empirical studies on a jazz musician entering the Flow state as they improvise.

I studied Zen techniques long ago, and I think that “empty mind” is a requirement for Flow state. The idea is to develop the ability to see where your conscious mind is paying attention, then to give it a “time out”. Various areas (like memory surfing, future planning, fears, movie scripting etc.) compete for attention and distract from entering Flow. The Zen writings call this “monkey mind”.

After my Uke practice, I switch to playing non-verbal, acoustic music to help to avoid “monkey mind” as I do my breathing exercises.

I believe it is a healthy pursuit at my age, but I acknowledge the potential damage and risks for young people, especially under 25 as the brain is still in development.

You just can't buy it anywhere unless you join a marijuana growing club.
It's very easy to buy marijuana, and you can either pick it up at your local pharmacy or even have it delivered to your home via DHL. You just need to purchase an online prescription for around €10. It's completely legal.

10 € for a receipt ... wait a moment ... have to calculate it ... will be back soon...

Vegas is home to the largest cannabis Superstore in the world, Planet 13, 112,000 sq. ft. with retail, restaurants, lab tours, etc... open 24/7... 10 minutes from the heart of The Strip. Just need ID proving that you're 21.

Ok, calculated: the starting offer is 9 € plus Porto for the receipt (including free choice of any Apotheke) ...

I don't like having "altered" consciousness, so I only drink occasionally (when with friends, in a social occasion, and limited to one drink), and I don't take drugs.

I've tried just about everything at one point or another, but I prefer my mind clear :)

So I am curious if anyone in the UK has had weed delivered by post safely?
I am aware that loads of drugs are sent via the post these days and wondering if it is a now a viable option.
Used to get DMT delivered via the mail a few years back. Back in my wilder years. But only because I had no local option.
(Very interesting, but a tad too intense for my aging mind.)
I can get weed locally, but am definitely intrigued by the sheer variety, and lower cost of what seems to be available to those in locales with less antiquated drug laws.

Thanks. I guess I'm more interested in folks, without a medical prescription, who just buy it illicitly for recreational use.

If it is still a prohibited substance in the UK it is not worth risking a criminal record for a few hoots via mail or otherwise... Have a nice whiskey or a pint or two instead and maybe a menthol ciggy if you really need some smoke stuff. >@^_*@<

Menthol cigarettes are illegal here since 2020 (sale is illegal, not possession).

Yes it is. I've been risking a criminal record for 50 years by buying and consuming illegal cannabis. It has been worth the risk.

Your suggestion of substituting alcohol and tobacco, certainly would NOT be worth the health or legal risks. Cannabis laws are regional suppression based on non scientific factors to control the population. Alcohol is illegal in about 80 counties in the U.S. Music in some forms is illegal in some countries (Iran, Saudi Arabia, Chenaya). Menthol cigarettes, that you suggested are both illegal in places as well as scientifically proven deadly. Would I give up music, and the "few hoots" to avoid the risk of a criminal record? Probably not. Would I consume tobacco at the risk of cancer? No. Would I risk a criminal record to pursue my choice to consume cannabis? Yes.

I'll take the minor criminal record and the freedom of choice vs. the proven cancerous and alcohol caused issues. Has 50 years of risking a record been worth a few hoots? Since I always knew the risk, and continue to pursue "the hoots" although no longer illegal where I live, my personal response is yes.

Cannabis laws are snake oil. I'll give them credence... when I give Danny Ritchie and cable lifters credence... which is never.

Along those same legal/illegal lines... pitbulls are illegal in MANY jurisdictions... yet I've lived in those areas and continued to flaunt the law based on antiquated or just stupid premises. This risk has DEFINITELY been worth the reward!

In the U.S., laws based on non scientific premises are on the rise. I intend to resist or ignore them when posed with similar cost/benefit ratios.
