Weed thread, what do you vaporize / smoke?

Once again I must emphasize, that I consider cannabis consumption to be completely unproblematic for me...

They chain smoked cannabis in the car with kids?
Tobacco. My father always had a pipe on the go but it was St Bruno Ready Rubbed not Acapulco Gold.

Going to work earlier this year, 0730, stepped out of the house into a cloud of weed smell. Could not see where it was coming from. Only people in sight a young mother walking her three children to school.

Set off, puzzled. Caught up with the young mum, she's the one with a burn on. Smoking it pure, in the street, taking her kids to school. Bear in mind this is in a country where, in theory, you can still get seven years for simple possession.

Thanks for the clarification. Some moms drive kids to school drunk, too....

What is the current situation in the US?
In how many states is it legal?
Most people don't realize this, but "hemp" has been legal federally since 2018 when they passed the farm bill that legalized hemp that had less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC.

D9 THC is the well-known psychoactive chemical that most people in this thread are familiar with.

However, what congress apparently didn't realize at the time is there are other types of THC that readily convert to D9-THC or behave similarly, like Delta-8 THC or THC-A.

What happened after 2018 was a lot of companies started cultivating cannabis with very low D9 THC but very high D8 or THC-A. Legally distinct from "weed" but apparently not very distinct in practice.

The net result of this is that you've been able to get "loophole weed" in many places pretty readily for the past several years.

There is a bill currently moving through congress to close that loophole.

I'm told this has had a serious negative effect on the state-level legal cannabis businesses, since the "hemp" ones are treated entirely differently in terms of taxes and regulation. To hear them tell it, it's more or less decimated the "real" cannabis businesses that play by the rules.

Cannabis with higher D9-THC is still a schedule 1 drug (the most serious designation, alongside Heroin and Ecstasy) and illegal federally, but is legal in some states, and for the past several years DEA enforcement against growers and dispensaries in those states has been forgone.

ANYWAY, the answer you were probably expecting:

Go it.
So if you live in Washington and want to visit your friend in Montana, it's not a good idea to drive through Idaho, before you've emptied your pockets?!

Yes, and in fact it's a known thing that cops will wait near the border to catch people that way.

Ironically, it's not considered that risky to fly with it from state to state, because the TSA (federal airport security) supposedly only really care about searching for explosives.

Today I visited the "Cannabis Caesar" in Cologne.

I just read posts on various forums, which is somewhat like secondhand smoke.
That way I can feel dumber (or high) without having the hunger pangs.

I personally don't set anything on fire and then attempt to inhale it into my lungs. However, I live in Minneapolis so I get an involuntary assist from wildfire smoke and all the smokers around me. It's only a concern when a car passes by that reeks of weed even when my windows are up, but I'm a good defensive driver.

We were smoking bongs, daily....all day....back in the 90s.
I lost many years of my life, I would say.
It's such a waste. You drink, you have fun. You smoke, you just bum around.

I have known many over the years. I don't think it did good for any of them.
Sure, if you "micro-dose," you can have positive effects in the long term....but who really does that?
The only people who are really able to do it don't really need it in the first place, cause they have a near perfect life anyways.

About entry drug: Back then, all my friends eventually got addicted to ecstasy, and I mean all of them. I pretty much was the only one who didn't. Coke was also a thing between them. I tried those things also. The thing is, I would never have tried this stuff if it wasn't for the green. That is why it is considered an entry drug.

The theory of the gateway drug has been tried many times and invalidated.
For instance my country France counts the biggest % of weed & hash smokers in Europe, yet one of the lowest % of so called hard drugs consumers.

It has, but I can see how it seems likely in terms of personal experience.

You ask yourself: Would I have tried XYZ if I had not tried pot first?

You answer: Certainly not, I can't imagine going straight to XYZ from nothing.

Counterfactual scenario: Would I have eventually tried XYZ if pot didn't exist, but I was still hanging around with the kind of person that's willing to try illegal drugs?

Impossible to say... but probably? Something else could have been the "gateway". There will always be a first thing to try, and it will always appear to be "the gateway" in hindsight.

I just related what I saw over the years.
Btw, my story was in Germany.
Now I have lived in Brazil for over 20 years, and one thing I noticed is that all weeders smoke cigarettes also. This might not sound like a big thing, but here in Brazil, almost no one smokes cigarettes.

Just saw this thread, which is funny because I'm high as fuck at the moment. I started growing last year when they legalized it in my country.

I used it before in my youth when somebody else had something, besides that I was never much interested in this, in the sense that I'd go out of my way to source something. But when the legalized to grow I tought, hey this could be fun.

I'm not a master but, I think I grew some beautiful ladies last year.

I also bought a microscope to determine optimal harvesting time:

Anyway, I smoked a lot in my youth (cigarettes) and I really didn't wanna start again in any form. So I bought a vaporizer. Same, same. But different. Somehow I couldn't really get high from the vape. I thought maybe my weed was no good but I gave it to some friends who smoke and got good feedback - in Minecraft. Because it would be illegal if did that in real life. After this I was pretty disinterested in the whole topic despite enjoying the growing process quite a lot.

I recently made cannabutter with a plant that I left in my basement. After not getting high from the vape, I didn't really feel like taking care of my last harvest so I just dried the plants dry in the basement for months now. I'm sure if you'd smoke them it would not be nice.

But for extracting in fat they still work great, and what can I say edibles really work me. At the moment I'm high on https://www.deliciousseeds.com/en/delicious-candy.html

I'm growing my first photoperiodic plant this year, last year were all automatics.

In that case the ultimate 100% of the cases gateway drug would be alcool with that logic. Corolation and causation are two différent things. I think that's the misunderstanding here.

In countries where weed or hash is smoked mixed with tobacco (like my native Germany) it is a gateway drug for smoking cigarettes, because nicotine is addictive as fuck and anybody who smokes weed regularly always has tobacco in reach.

AFAIK this is not the case in places where grass is smoked pure, or now with people vaping it.

Here in Brazil, weed is smoked without tobacco

It's worth trying again with the vaping. Many people do not experience much of an effect on the first or the first few contacts with cannabis. Once you actually got stoned for the first time (edibles usually do this on the first try, unlike smoking) effects come more easily. Due to different processing, the active ingredient differs between smoking/vaping and eating cannabis, and the high is substantially different. Same family of effect, sure, but edibles are way trippier and the effect lasts a lot longer. Also, it's a lot easier to dose when smoking/vaping. So much easier to handle for e.g. mellowing out before going to bed.
