Weed thread, what do you vaporize / smoke?

I'm 70 and after observing mates at the same age who have smoked weed since 16. They are now paranoid, depressed, lack energy, motivation mostly single. Whether they had mental health issues before they certainly have them now. My own son 35 is the same currently unemployed after moving onto Meth. I use to smoke weed in the 70's and 80's.

Now I can not condone this practice or blog. As a secondary teacher I could easily recognise kids who smoked weed who under achieved mostly.

About all weed is good for today, is by removing the THC and using as a health treatment.

In terms of music it does enhance the experience to a point but detail is reduced somewhat foggy. This is subjective not sure how one would measure this!!

Overall its much preferable to listen with a clear mind.
The thing is drugs (all kinds including alcool) are used by people with pre-existing traumas and mental issues to self-soothe, so it's hard to say it's THE cause of their problems, I personnaly don't think it helps in that regard.

I was looking up the function of GABA---a neurotransmitter that functions as an inhibitor of neural activity. It appears to be involved with bipolar disorder, along with relaxation and stuff like shingles. I've read that too much THC will reduce the presence of GABA, increasing paranoia, while a small amount increases the presence of GABA. I think this explains (in part) the paradoxical nature of cannabis, making some relaxed, some paranoid. Gabapentin increases the presence of GABA (surprise, surprise) as does Depakote.

Unlike many "lifelong druggies" whatever that means...other than inexperience on speakdoctors's part....

In the early 80's I had friends that grew some killer sinsemilla in Fallbrook and others that grew massive quantities up in the Humboldt hills. A friend and I once split a batch of brownies with a whole ounce ground up in them; it was like eating chocolate flavored hay. It took a good hour for the full effect to hit; what we called permagrin - we couldn't move for hours. I haven't smoked or ingested anything mood altering since August 4, 1989.

Cannabis, consumed using a Pax dry herb vaporizer has stabilized my bipolar mood swings better than many of the dozens of prescribed meds I've used and had to discontinue.

Bupoprion, Carbamazapine, and Ghiradelli brownies made with vaped medical grade ground flower, taken daily, is the magic combo for me. No paranoia issues in my 50 years of partaking, so far.

About four to five years ago, I developed the habit of drinking one or two beers in the evening. This went on for years. If I skipped an evening, I felt it very clearly in the form of a low mood. Today, I would call it alcohol addiction.

Cannabis, in the form of THC oil, got me out of it. For about a month, I mixed 10 to 15 drops into a sip of water and drank it in the evening. Therefore, cannabis is not a gateway drug for me, but an exit drug. There was no shift in addiction. When the bottle of THC oil was empty, I didn't buy a refill. I had absolutely no withdrawal symptoms or anything like that. And I was sober.

Nothing. Ever. Never smoked a single cigarette even actively. Maybe because as children we were literally smoked in the back seat of the car by our chain-smoking parents. Fucking idiots, but that was common in the seventies.

I'm like the poster child for getting shit done on weed and finding success, but I'm an artist - though a technical one with lots of math and mechanics involved. My state has a glut of weed and the dispensaries are practically giving it away at the moment which is a drastic contrast to college days in the 80's when Mexican compressed brick weed was all that was commonly available and about the same price.

These days I don't smoke much until late night, prefer to do most activities straight but a bowl and glass of scotch are the vehicle for a serious music session. I've learned not to do speaker/room correction filters stoned  though I still do on occasion - hey it's fun!

Oh yeah, old school, always flower. Edibles have never done it for me + never knowing the exact dosage or time to engagement. Hash is fun or the infused buds but all the other variants like dap, wax or vapes aren't as interesting.

Yes, a kind of dream has come true for me too.
I go to the pharmacy and buy the weed I prefe.
In the highest quality.
Or DHL delivers it right to my home.

Yes, protecting children back then meant blowing cigarette smoke in a different direction...
We had a little extra though. My old man hated open windows in the car even in summer (gave him a stiff neck, he always claimed). AC wasn’t avail either. Don’t miss these days.

They chain smoked cannabis in the car with kids?

Gorilla Glue for me

It's high time to start a weed thread.
