Weed thread, what do you vaporize / smoke?

I've always liked the "DIME" vape-carts (minus their battery pens).
1785971244469.png

They are 510-thread but DIME carts work best w/Yocan UniPro rechargeable ModBox.

100mV step-variable, OLED displaying puff-duration, x.xx Ohms, battery-state.
I have the "Wolfe" mod on my Yocan UniPro2, that also adds puff-count#s to the OLED.

My mobile (EDC) cart-pen is this PCKT-2

The cart sits inside both these types of batteries... w/just the tip being visible.

Never saw that brand. Probably a lot more location specific at this point?

You may find this unedited Q/A with {CLAUDE} funny, as we did:
@xanalog asks: "What are these things we found in our alley?"
1788051281190.png

{CLAUDE’ 1st Answer} >> I'm picturing a jar filled with small electronic parts—RCA/phono connectors in white plastic and gold plating, plus glass items that could be fuses, vacuum tubes, or diodes, fitting with RandiO's RF/avionics/audio background.
That's a mixed jar of electronic connector components — looks like it's been collecting for a while given the "2022/03"-ish date scrawled on it. Breaking down what I can see:
The white plastic pieces with gold-plated tips — these are RCA/phono connector plugs and jacks, the same connectors used for audio/video cables. Some are wired ends (plugs), some look like panel-mount jacks.
The amber/gold glass cylindrical items — these are the ones I'd want a closer look at to be certain, but they most resemble either:
Gas discharge tube surge arrestors (used in telecom/RF equipment for lightning/surge protection)
Glass diode or rectifier packages
Possibly small glass fuses
The small ribbed metal caps/collars scattered throughout — look like knurled locking nuts or ferrules, the kind that secure connectors through a panel or bulkhead.
...my best guess: this looks like a parts-salvage jar — components pulled from scrapped or repaired gear over time (a "save it, might need it someday" bin), heavy on RCA/phono connectors mixed with some kind of protective or rectifying component.
xanalog >> Look closer it may help identification
{CLAUDE’ 2nd Answer} >> Looking closer at the specific markings visible:
The white triangular warning sticker (upper area) — that's a hazard/CA (California) compliance symbol, commonly found on components containing materials requiring special disposal (could be related to the amber glass items below it).
The amber glass cylindrical components — looking more closely at the shape (tapered/rounded glass body, metal end caps, some with a visible band or stripe near one end) — these look most like glass cartridge fuses or gas discharge tube (GDT) surge arrestors. The telltale sign for GDTs is usually two-electrode symmetric construction with a ceramic or glass body and metal caps on both ends, often marked with voltage ratings — a few of these do appear to have small printed markings near the caps that I can't resolve clearly enough to read at this resolution.
The white plastic conical pieces with a center hole — these read as strain-relief boots or dielectric bushings from coax or phono connectors, not standalone parts — they'd have been the insulating piece that separates a connector's shell from its center pin.

Letters visible on some white pieces ("R", partial others) — small alphanumeric codes like these are usually manufacturer or polarity/channel identifiers (R for "right channel" would fit with the RCA-connector theory — stereo audio connectors are often marked L/R or color-coded red/white).
xanalog >> How many gummy bears do you think is in the jar?
{CLAUDE/ 3rd Reply} >> Zero — unless you're counting the amber glass RCA/fuse components as "gummy bear-colored," there's not an actual gummy bear in sight. That's straight electronics salvage: connectors, glass components, and plastic bushings, not candy.
If you want an actual guess-the-quantity estimate on something in that jar, I could try eyeballing total component count instead — probably somewhere in the 60-90 piece range based on density and jar size, though that's a rough visual estimate, not a count.
xanalog >> You failed identifying them correctly
{CLAUDE} >> You're right to call that out — I was guessing from a fuzzy photo and dressing it up with confident-sounding terminology (GDTs, strain-relief bushings, etc.) instead of just saying I couldn't tell. That's a worse failure mode than admitting uncertainty up front.
I don't actually know what these parts are. What would help me get it right this time:
Any markings/part numbers you can read directly off the pieces (even partial)
What kind of gear you or whoever filled this jar was working on/servicing when these accumulated

Whether you already know what they are and are testing me.
I chose NOT to tell {CLAUDE} that they were vape carts accumulated since February 2022.
What started this Q/A was the fact the CA' State Assembly bill 762 is on GovAwesom' desk waiting for a signature that bans 'Disposable Nicotine Vapes'.
Specifically, the AB-762 would permanently ban disposable battery-embedded vapor inhalation devices... but only for nicotine.

IMO: AB-762 should also include weed/THC carts w/batteries as well. We naturally do stuff half-baked in sun-baked CA!

Welcome aboard (the new) @Sal1950,;)

Dontchoo know pot is a gateway drug and can stunt your growth?
It’s been a while since I’ve visited the weed thread too. The stuff is so addictive that I’ve taken a break for a number of months because of other interests that needed careful thought. Funny though, going absolutely cold turkey hasn’t caused any sort of withdrawal symptoms, and although the thought of being high sounds nice once in a while, waiting for the time when I can truly appreciate the experience seems worth it. I like space before and after dosing up.

As Sal mentioned, edibles are a better way to imbibe as opposed to smoke for me these days. Vapes are out because I contribute enough to humanity’s stream of waste as it is.

As an aside, if 4:20 signifies an action, 4:25 is the actual goal.

I do vape (live rosin) because of the immediate reward, and there's the purity/taste (esp. with live rosin).

I also keep a supply of edibles, tinctures and such. I don't use as often because they are just for effect, not for a full sensory experience. Perhaps it's just to connect to my past experience - I used to roll joints or smoke dry flower with a water bong, but herb is just to smoky and harsh for me these days.

I've never experienced it being addictive in any way or form, ever. In general, I think addicion is a personal issue, not a substance problem. We don't regulate the sale of food because some people have weight issues, we don't ban alcohol because some people are alcoholics or sloppy drunks. It's up to consumers to establish their tolerances, and people with addictive tendencies will always find some way to get their fix...

AliExpress seems to forbid advertising pot-paraphenalia, including rechargeable 510 vape battery 'packs.
I found this re-usable battery pack, that was labeled as "510 Threaded Battery, Mini Bulb Box, Portable Electronic Lighting Tool, Electric Soldering Iron, Voltage Welding Tool"
at AliExpress (=tiny url).
510CartBattery01.jpg
510CartBattery02.jpg

I did not order the 510 soldering attachment, and it did NOT arrive with any kind of instructions.
But the dang thing works, even without pressing the top ON button.
The bottom Voltage adjust pot also works.
The charge port is the older Mini-USB (not USB-C) and a charge holds up for at least 2 days for my 'habit' (small LED turns red when charge is needed).

If I did not have so many rechargeable vape-pens, I'd order a few more (4 diff colors)... because the $14 price is worth every penny dollar.

Vaping cannabis flower — the Dulce de Uva strain is my current fave —has utterly ruined smoking weed for me. I’m pretty much micro-dosing these days, but music and good hi-fi gear is just a little bit sweeter with a touch of reefer madness.

I’m extremely down on disposable anything and everything when it comes to THC delivery.

Micro-doser here as well. Stopped using combustion a while ago. Mostly live resin and rosin extracts via e-rigs (new Switch Go is my fave!) and DHE flower vapes either with Dynavap/Tempest style and an IH Wand or pocketable electronic vapes (Rogue, Arizer, . .). There's a bunch of reasons I don't like disposable vape carts but I tend to keep a couple in rotation just for convenience but just that.

Honestly small dabs of good extract with a good system for it is the bees knees for me these days. That used to mean one of those big old steampunk-looking rigs with all kinds of quartz and glass and 3-burner torches or whatnot that are just NOT for me, LOL (will I just burn *myself* or the whole building?). I think compact, self-contained e-rigs did for dabbing what Dynavap and Storz & Bickell did for dry herb vaping.

Coming along nicely:

Kosher Kush x Tangerine Dream. Let's hope the weather holds until October. Been unusually sunny this year.

Plenty of trichomes in this early bloom stadium gives hope for really good stuff. Been cleaning up a bit at the bottom, the shadowy flowers and stuff - it's properly strong already, this unripe. Very nice! Not bad for the first ever grow.

Beauties! Drooling!
So, what is the legality of growing the green-gold in your neck of the woods!

You do know that you are a teaser (like a 'CT')?... to the rest of us and I don't like selfish people who cannot share their stash with other like minded peeps (=us)?

Yeah, you suck and so does smoking alone! :):p;)

Haha, the law is, three living plants per adult person on private, secluded grounds, and sharing is forbidden :p

So?
Is it 'legalized' or just 'decriminalized?
How is it treated across EU?
Marijuana is fully legalized in California for both medical and recreational use, rather than merely being decriminalized.
  • Medical Use: Legalized on November 5, 1996, when voters approved Proposition 215 (the Compassionate Use Act), making California the first state to permit cannabis for medical purposes.
  • Recreational Use: Legalized on November 8, 2016, when voters passed Proposition 64 (the Adult Use of Marijuana Act), allowing adults aged 21 and older to possess, purchase, and cultivate limited amounts. Licensed commercial sales officially began on January 1, 2018.
It was the most weird experience, sitting at a small bar and being able order from a menu, in Amsterdam (early '90s, CannabisCup)
The unnerving event happened when all 3 of us realized that this was our first time ever sharing our legal and public pot smoking... without having to look around us before taking a rip!

I think in California local counties/municipalities and landlords have the right to dictate limitations, though. 6 plants are legal in a household no matter how many people live there, and the plants should not be visible/reachable from the street.

Legalised or decriminalised? Yes.
It's fully legalised as far as small scale private grows go. Likewise carrying in public, up to 25 grams.

But a proper legalisation looks different. It's halfarsed and botched, as always. A bit like the Netherlands, just differently stupid lol. And it only counts for Germany, anything crossing the border is still illegal, except medical stuff traded between licensed companies.

One does not simply talk about past crimes. You have to wrap it in an entertaining story...
I don't mind. Simply because my only 'crime' in life is being a habitual pot smoker... and being a compulsive speeder.
I have considered suing them for continued oppression/pain/suffering or to surrender myself to the authorities just before death, so that they end up on the hook for my burial!

So was smoking some nice Girl Scout Cookies I was getting from my local dispensary right down the street, a quarter for 20 bucks. Great value but as a change of pace, I added some extra punch.
1000005802.jpg

So yeah, 41% THC for infused premium King Louis XIII, plus high CBD. Bomb ass fire mon. This Stiizy 40's is the strongest best tasting weed I've ever had, my binky.
