I think the North Carolina produces the most hemp in the United States. They sell edibles, Delta-8 Delta-9 here everywhere. You can get THC-A Delta-9 with lower percentage that meets the legal law but when you light a match to it becomes very potent Delta-9 == Cannabis thats the stuff that I like no extra tax and not very expensive.

I've been a bit late with the start, so its no that big yet. I topped it once and then trained it to the side, so it got very bushy. I'm letting it grow upwards now.It has been 3-months >> Status please!
During training I managed to break the main stem in half:
But nothing a little mending tape cannot fix:
Did some defoliation to get more sun into the inside and bottom.
It will look bushy like in the first pic again in no time.
For legal reasons, I'm pretty sure I will harvest 49,9g.
This has been a really easy grow. With the mulch and the volume, even in extreme heat, I need to water only every 4-5 days. I haven't yet had to add any fertilizer, and as you can see it looks healthy.

I used to grow white widow. always flowerd like crazy and tasted well. My personal benchmark. But I grew it inside, hydroponics-style and with full artificial light.
That said, I haven't grown in 4 years or so. It's just more work and my current backyard is small and is just California-native plants that are very drought resistant, so Marijuana is a bit problematic. Also, it's so convenient to simply get stuff at the dispensary these days... I am lazy.

It's Passion#1 from dutch passion, which is Indica. My biggest plant was last years which is visible in the original post regarding the raised bed. I'm only growing since 2 years since it was legalized here. In the first year I kinda overdid it and grew 9 plants in 1 year (all automatics...). Believe it or not I don't consume that much, so it's hard for me to make comparisons. I'm more in it for trying to make a nice plant.
Last years was Frisian Dew which is supposed to be resilient to harsh autumn, but regardless I got mold in some buds of most of my outdoor plants in both years due do very rainy weather. I hope the Passion#1 will flower a bit earlier which it is supposed to do. Outdoor here is always a gamble if you can harvest before the mold sets in. Especially if you did well and have big dense buds, any moisture will just be retained and lead to mold.
I might either build a rain cover for the raised bed that lets the sunlight through or artifically deprive it of light in the evenings to get it to flower earlier. But really, I'm more after good results with minimal effort. It's just a hobby. If you want best quality I think growing under controlled conditions (i.e. tent) is the best way, but I don't want the hassle that comes with that.

Growing some freebie autos in my rollable tomato trunks outdoor currently. Milky Way F1 and Black Domina XXL.
Really low maintenenace, just add water. They were standing around filled with good earth, so I thought why not.. too lazy for tomatos this year.
My biggest problem is the cats getting their funky salad ration.

I am sure higher quality is available if you DIY... but the dispo down the street from me is selling decent stuff at $10 / 3.5g. Ten bucks an eighth, tax included, lab tested at 23%! I can't really compete with that, you know?
DIY is always great if you allow for the waiting, diligence etc required. (oh and if you don't grow hydroponic, weather is a huge factor in taste). The white widow I grew is still my benchmark. smooth... and super potent (caught me offguard the first time... wow... and one of my friends went utterly insane during a party and blamed me, despite my stern warning).
we have premium brands here now... you pay more (~$50 per 1G) but it makes a difference. like i said, i'd love to grow again, but life is a bit too busy now... ailing mom, work, best colleague left for another company and they expect me to cover his stuff, blabla) so not sure the result would be the best.

The most I have ever paid is around $20/g so maybe I've never really had the high end stuff. Someday I might treat myself, but with a toddler around it's a pretty low priority for now. $3/g is not enough money to be missed and it's no big deal if I don't get through it before it goes stale...
I should also mention hydroponics need scale. I used to live in a big place. Now it's a 2BR townhouse. The cats are too comfy in their illegally occupied room (d*mn squatters! :-D) for me to start a hydroponic operation there.
And outside is not an option, backyard not big enough. Compromises, we all face them! - Joined

10 for an ounce is a steal. Even if it were the most basic white widow.
To me it's all about the special sorts. Sometimes pure strains, sometimes clever hybrids. Current favorites: Black Runtz, Apothecary Haze, CBDank
When shopping I also look for things I can't do on my own. Like dry sift, cup winner cones...

I'm still so pissed we haven't passed a legal rec use law here in FL. I've got, and can most always find great smoke but at 76 my lungs just can't tolerate smoking any more.
If only I could lay my hands on good edibles I'd be sooooo happy.

When beeing sensible with the temperature of a vaporizer you only get the oils and air. Well, mostly. But it's still into the lungs.
Eating is so much more comfortable when not wanting to smoke.
Best THC buzz in my life that I remember is from this blondish pollen hash I used to get in the 70-80s.
Pop a gram or 2 between the cheek and gum like some Redman, and just wait for it to dissolve while tossing back a big glass of milk.
