Weed thread, what do you vaporize / smoke?

Unfortunately, "the weed aroma" tends to stink up ones entire abode -- another point in favor of vaping IMO.
Personally I can't handle joints anymore, I don't enjoy the harsh smokiness even when called "aroma". :-)

Back in the day, no problem. I never smoked cigarettes, but grew up surrounded by smoke from other people - so I used to handle it well. Someone else mentioned mixing weed (we did typically hashish paste) mixed with mild Dutch tobacco, that was smooth.

I have a full collection of vaporizers, fav is probably the DaVinci Artiq or my bong with the Pulsar attachment for vaping.

As a side note, I always used cotton filters on my joints, always had some remarks about it, but it's just logical to me, makes it a lot less harsh.

Is weed legal in France now, or is it like Spain... which has the utterly illogical split of "legal to consume - but illegal to sell"...

Interesting... worth a try.

Unfortunately my wife demands we keep "proper snacks" in the house so I'm always at risk. :D

As @pablolie mentions, in various places, once it becomes legal or at least defacto legal, partaking becomes a normal personal decision like whether to drink wine, and there is no cool factor involved anymore. In my area it's advertised on billboards and grocery receipts like any other boring product, and nobody cares if you smoke or not.
As One drives west on Martin one often finds a Billboard at the corner of Martin and Carpenter for the Green Lady, our local cannabis boutique, this billboard positioned within a 1/2-mile region with about five dispensaries, including 420 Carpenter, something like a Costco of cannabis, half a block around the corner. The Green Lady billboards are quite decorative and usually seasonally themed.

There are hardly any consistent models worldwide. Most countries where cannabis is tolerated operate under compromises that are often legally contradictory:
Netherlands: Sale in coffee shops tolerated, but wholesale illegal (“backdoor problem”)
Spain: Private consumption permitted, sale illegal
France: Everything illegal, but partially decriminalized
Germany: Possession now permitted, but no traditional sale (instead, clubs / personal cultivation) and consumption permits sometimes contradictory
Portugal: Consumption (de facto tolerated), possession of small amounts (without criminal prosecution). But you cannot legally buy it anywhere.
USA: Depending on the state, completely legal to strictly prohibited. Prohibited at the federal level > Strange, because federal law actually takes precedence over state laws
Canada: One of the few countries with reasonably consistent regulation of production, sale, and consumption
There are probably more countries, but I don’t know them or their regulations.
What I do know > The global situation is not only inconsistent but also extremely asymmetrical—sometimes only a few hours’ flight separates “tolerated” from “can ruin your life.” I’ll ask an AI about that now

From ChatGPT >>>

1. Countries with extremely harsh penalties (high risk, even for small amounts)
You should under no circumstances carry cannabis here—even the smallest amounts can have serious consequences:

Singapore – extremely strict; even possession can lead to long prison sentences, with very harsh penalties for larger quantities
United Arab Emirates (e.g., Dubai, Abu Dhabi) – zero-tolerance policy; even traces (e.g., in luggage) can cause problems
Saudi Arabia – very harsh penalties, even for small amounts
Indonesia (especially Bali) – regularly several years in prison; in severe cases, life imprisonment
Malaysia – similarly strict; very severe penalties for certain quantities
Philippines – harsh prosecution, enforced very rigorously, including for political reasons
Japan – no death penalty, but extremely restrictive socially and legally; prison sentences and lifelong entry restrictions possible

2. Countries with strict laws and consistent enforcement
Not quite as extreme as above, but still significantly harsher than Central Europe:

Turkey – Possession can quickly lead to investigations, detention, or coercive measures
Egypt – Harsh penalties, little leeway
China – very strict, even for foreigners
South Korea – even prosecutes its own citizens for consumption abroad
Thailand – significantly more restrictive again following a period of liberalization; legal situation volatile and risky

3. Most important point (often underestimated)
The greatest risk arises not only from possession within the country, but also from:

Entering the country with remnants in your luggage
Traces in your grinder or clothing
Transiting through airports in such countries

Gulf states, in particular, are uncompromising in this regard.

While many Western countries have inconsistent but relatively lenient regulations (gray areas, clubs, tolerance), there are still countries worldwide where the issue is treated not as a misdemeanor but as a serious criminal offense—without these “intermediate stages.”

I think for most of us here, dry herb vaping is the only logical choice, it’s essentially the 'hi-fi' version of consumption. Combustion is like listening to a low-bitrate MP3 through a distorted tube amp; you lose all the detail in the noise.

When you use a high-precision heater, you're finally hearing the 'master recording' of the terpenes without the carbon distortion. Exactly for this reason, I use a NORDDAMPF vaporiser, as their thermal management is exceptionally transparent, ensuring you get pure extraction without the signal degradation of burnt material.
I made my own dry leaf vape pipe with a soldering iron and jam jar. With a nice wooden box from Michaels, total cost was under $50.

I don’t know why anybody would smoke pot now. Tinctures aren’t bad for your lungs, are more economical, don’t stink and the effects last longer. The new tinctures also take affect fast.

The answer is probably quite simple and based on practical experience: These tinctures aren't equally easy to find everywhere.

I've always found tinctures and edibles disappointing -- there's something about the relative suddenness and immediacy of a vaping "hit" that's part and parcel of the experience here, particularly the relaxation of the day's accumulated muscle tension in the shoulders and neck.

Oral consumption (eating) is actually more inductive then smoking and has stronger and longer lasting effect. Never the less it takes 2.5~3 h for full effect while smoking it's 10 min. Process of cold chemical extraction of etheric oil is inefficient and pricy. Raw or dried but as food it's least unhealthy. Seads are super food (40% protein), rope and clothes are great and remains also in construction work. Never whose any plant more miss judged on purpose then Indian weed especially if you disregard THC compleatly.

...I only vape and always put it through a bubblier for extra filtration, ...
What exactly does your bubbler filter out that you are worried about.

I mean, this is not the early years of THC extraction methods.
Some products utilized butane/propane that were known to leave behind benzene and xylene residual impurities.
Some older methods -used to produce the concentrated THC distillates- relied on 'cutting agents' made of propylene or polyethylene glycols, or vegetable glycerine which can degrade down to toxic compounds (e.g. CH₂O, CH₃CHO, C₃H₄O, etc.)

The vaping temperatures play an extremely critical roll in uptaking THC.
Recommendations vary around 157°C–200°C (315°F–392°F).
Anything exceeding 220°C (428°F) -which approach the point of combustion can cause terpenes and other ingredients (THC/CBDs, etc.) to convert into harmful byproducts/toxicants.
Yes, vaping THC involves vaporizing the cannabinoids and terpenes in cannabis by heating the material to a specific temperature below the point of combustion.
Shame on you if you are getting your vape-juice from shady sellers that are not licensed to process such derivatives safely.;)

PSAs:
*Plan ahead and stock up!
Because our yearly festive holiday is almost upon us, and the BOGO deals are already in place, at dispensaries.
*CA limit is eight 1mL carts/visit.
*Unopened carts have about a 12month shelf-life, upon manufacturing.:)

Illegal but still #1 pot consumers in Europe, basically if you fake hiding they'll fake not seeing you.
It used to be that way at U-of-M in Ann Arbor; way back in the 1970s... but without the faking it!
At the time, most of the 'weed' around Cleveland area reeked of mold that was mostly shipped via Lake Erie boats from Canadian low-grade crops.
We'd do mid-semester road trips to Ann Arbor (300 mile R/T) when our stocks dwindled.
On our return trips, we'd always stop at "The Roller Coaster Capital of the World" (Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH) and do doobies for a double-high!
Blue Dream
Acapulco Gold, Panama Red, Maui Wowie, and Thai Sticks made our college-life easier to digest.:)

I'm getting old and use cannabis for health, mostly. My wife has RA and it takes the edge off and makes her feel like life is still enjoyable. We don't really get any dicernable effects from it anymore so strain isn't so important (indica is best for cancer etc) as THC amounts. We no longer smoke or vape it. I grind the bud into a fine powder, put it in a small sealer jar, seal it, and put it in an instant pot at high pressure for 45min. No smell, no mess and all the terpines remain in the product. We measure out about 250mg each, drip some coconut oil onto it and down it with a shot of water.
Always remember, eating it is different to smoking or vaping it. When you eat it, it goes through the liver and converts to 11 Hydroxy THC, which passes the blood brain barrier much easier than when it is smoked. If you eat it until you feel the same effects as smoking it, you will probably have a bad experience. That is how you end up like the various memes, freaking out that you are dying. You aren't, but you will feel like it.

After using it as an edible for a while your tolerance increases and eventually you hardly feel anything unless you go way to far. This is not trying to encourage anyone else to do the same, but if you are having to use a lot for a medical problem it might help.

For next year, I will make a 600l corten steel raised bed that is open towards the ground. I was kinda tired of kneeling down to work on the plant, so I wanted to bring it a bit higher up.

I plan on making a living soil so I don't have to bother with fertilizer all the time. I have two containers of compost that have been rotting for a long time. Since it's hard to judge 600l volume I will fill it in stages, bottom will get old wood and other garden waste, then I will put all the old earth I have aquired over time and finally add the compost on top. I will then seed a "living mulch" like clover, mustard etc and let it grow to make a health soil food web: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soil_food_web

Update on this. But some netting underneath to prevent animals from digging in. Put the corners on stones. Leveled the whole thing.

Happy 420, to all,
Remember it still isn't too late to go to your local friendly dispensary and score on some great deals, in celebration.
I am now well stocked-up for the next 4 months... even if Hormuz blockade persists.
