Sorry about the last post-- I meant Minx XL-- I know you only have one speaker. thank you---c marasco

I live in the Seattle area. Any chance you could review them for me? If only to tell me if they are somehow damaged or if they really just suck that bad.
Sure. Just create a conversation with me and we can take it from there.

Hi Amir-- how is it going w/ my Cambridge Minx XL's? Pls try & get them back to me as you have had them for about 6 mos. Thank you-- c marasco
If you PM amir, it’s less likely to be forgotten.

Back in June ( a donation to this fine establishment ;)). There is no way of buying them in the USA (yet) but a distributor is coming. Of all the Alcons, Meyers and Jbl synthesis, I've used or owned there is no more holographic constant head ducking loudspeaker for Atmos Music than these balls this is because they are coaxial, but the shape also eliminates an important cabinet induced distortion ( RCA RESEARCH 1960)which contributes to the holographic duck your head on Steven Wilson and Booka Shade music atmos recordings, and finally the speaker itself is a radial diffuser on its own improving acoustics.

In this room we complemented the spheres with more radial diffusion ( also RCA research from 1960), we even applied RCA's research recommended siting periodicity in one wall. Sounds delightful.

The driver and crossover is rather inexpensive defying the sound value.
There is a slightly higher end Anniversary edition with crossover and cable improvements, but they are working on on a high end driver and crossover for a future release. That is why many of us are so curios about the Klippel Results.
that is darn cool.

I am very sorry for the delay. The lab has continuously be down for various reasons. I have it back together and your speaker is next to be tested. Appreciate your patience.

That's another speaker I have to get to now that the lab is working again!
It turns out that the research on the round enclosure dates back to 1938!!

The Devialet Phantom did sound great. It was just limited by its software. If they had a standard studio monitor version with XLR input and minimal DSP delay, it would be interesting. They did have a demo using DANTE and the SPDIF direct capability.

You mentioned that you thought the Atmos effect of the spherical speakers was the best you had heard. I have sent Amir the Meyer Sound MM4-XP which I use as my Atmos speakers. I wonder if the small enclosure, though cubical, performs anywhere close to the spherical designs.

Hi Amir, This is my first post in ASR (tho I knew and benefited from ur great work for long)!
I recently looked into portable DAPs and saw a product which is interesting bc it manages to fit 3 jacks into a compact size.
It is claimed to contain two cs43131, otherwise, the specs are quite vague (e.g., the above page says the power is 250mW/ch@32ohms which must be false).
AFAIK, the manufacturer is known among Chinese DIYers and their DIY parts are not bad. So, if the cs43131 is real, the overall quality might not be bad?

I know you are in US, and I'm in China and Japan. I am not sure if I want to ship the thing to US, but if there is anyone you know in China or Japan who can measure it, I am happy to send one. Also, let me know if there are better places in or outside ASR to ask this!

Unfortunately there are not any entities in Asia that do this kind of testing. Please contact the company and see if they want to send one in for review.
