Why? Why? There is no why.

In that 'probability' statement; you should add a clause that forbids you from spending the liquidation proceeds to purchase yet another!

I know guys who sustain their wristwatch hobby by buying and selling, but I've never been good at that. If I sell watches, it will be for something actually important, like groceries.

Nearing OT: For whatever reason, if or when you need to replace/change a watchband, consider spending sometime at aliexpress, before purchase.
*It is the figurative 'breadbasket' for watchbands; whether you want leather, color, funk, bracelet, novel or clones...

OT: I get upset at aliexpress because you have to buy at least 3 items totaling $10+before getting free S/H.
*Now, I have 3 more spare 22mm watchbands. (Total price for 3 was $12.)

Not sure if fake or not:

They may be "small" but I'd love to own and wear either a classic Cartier Tank or a Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso! Both are seriously beautiful.
I've thought about getting a Cartier Tank or Santos from time to time, but I dunno: Sometimes I think that so many goods and services are promoted as luxurious or high-end that nothing feels special anymore.

Found a posh new magazine which is ridiculously overstuffed with ads for supposedly luxe products:

'Object d'Art' is a touchy subject!
I used to get somewhat spendy with watches (mostly auto/mech'l), as well as artwork (mostly from surrealist era).
Our collection of artwork still adorn all walls in the house, yet those watches have all duly but not dearly-departed.

Currently, I wear a new $90 titanium automatic, that lost about 35 seconds in about 35 days (picture at post#1,538).:)

The real luxury is to have time. In the last three years I mostly left my watches at home, or would wear my 18 years old Citizen Marinaut Titanium. Never opened (solar). The other watches only for special occasions.

I love the Santos I bought back in March. One doesn't tend to see them and it has a great feel - light, but also substantial. I like the swappable bracelets as well. One steel, the other in green leather. Almost nobody would recognize it which minimizes concern with wearing it.

Cheap and good, that's my motto! While I admire the look of some expensive $1,000+ watches, I feel no need to own one.
