Watches! What do y'all have on your wrists?

I used to be really into watches, but after getting an Apple Watch, the convenience was unbeatable. I ended up selling all my other ones. This is probably heresy in this thread, but I swear, I'm not a witch. You don’t need to weigh me against a duck to prove it.

They need recharging daily?

I Googled the Apple Watch. 18 to 36 hour battery time.

That wouldn't do for me. I have Garmin which needs recharging once a week. That I can live with.
Me neither. I am getting away from battery replacements every 3 years (Looking at you ****** Timex!) and even questionable battery replacement capability (Looking at you Timex again!). I wasted several hundred on Timex watches in the past fewish+ years... I want something long term that works.

I had a early 1980s seiko that needed a new battery like clockwork every 11 years. Only watch I wore for 35 years. It didn't quit, I quit wearing watches. I sometimes wear the Garmin fitness smart watch.

That was my last good watch a Seiko Quartz that I bought in ~1983 that cost me ~ CDN $400. It was nice. I have no idea where it went. I like Seiko but I want something that's easy to read in the dark when my eyes are at their worst. So I am drooling on Quartz tritium illuminated watches with a 10 year battery life Swiss movement. ~ CDN $750+

Since I don't take either my phone or my watch to bed, and both need charging overnight, it's no inconvenience at all. In fact, placing a regular watch on the table is just as easy, since it charges inductively, like my phone.

The battery hasn't shown any noticeable degradation, and I've had it since 2019. Depending on how much I use it for running and work, there's usually 20-40% charge remaining at the end of the day.

My Scanwatch II the watch you can't recognise as a smart health watch

I have a few smartwatches, but my Nokia Steel HR is probably my favorite (Nokia briefly acquired Withings a couple of years ago). The customizable notifications for any app, heart rate and activity trackers, 50m water resistance and month-long battery life are all I really want in a smartwatch, and it does look quite classy when it's idle with the display off.

I have the Scanwatch 2 compared to my Polar heart rate sensor (which is really good an reliable) it is comparable. Don't like to wear a band around my breast during cycling this is a good alternative.

I use one of these, charge once a month, more fitness data than I need and looks like a watch.
The best smartwatch out there for me and 2 of my kids have one.
I did get an Apple watch early on but it was always off when I looked at it so I gave it to my son who loves it and is still using it.
I do actually prefer a mechanical watch though.

I have mine set to always on. It's in the settings.

My cheap watches aren't in the league of you's lot, so shan't mention them.

However, I do have a precious Omega Constellation monster from 1976 (swapped for a Linn Asak T cartridge). Beautiful movement inside, but not sure the batteries can be got now. Thing is, it goes in for a proper service (couple of hundred quid I bet now), the battery lasts three or more years. The replacement battery lasts two years if lucky and the third a year or just over. Then it's off to the service department for another (to me very costly) service. Last time it came back, I rejected it as the jeweller had damaged the hands on removal and they had to be replaced. It had a lovely 'tick' though, the second hand quite smooth in its steps, unlike a gold Rolex quartz watch a Concorde-pilot customer was given by a rich middle eastern chap as thanks for a great trip. This watch TICKED very loudly and the second hand jumped smartly from second to second :D

I like new audio but watches are vintage for me

I think that is a sad story: You sound like you lack empathy for your watch and how it must feel to be not doing its sole mission in the universe!:(

But I originally came here to see what @Doodski thinks about this BR-X5 Blue Lum watch:

Sunglasses are optional.
I went from not ever wearing a watch for 20 years or so to feeling naked without my Racine (called ENICAR in the USA market).
So, exactly the opposite of what you surmise.
I really like the looks of the one you post better than most.
