One too many divisions. The Accutron tuning fork vibrated at 360 Hz, except for the SSIH versions licensed from Bulova, that vibrated at 300 Hz.
10q for setting the record straight rdenney (I am not sure if I should go back and edit/correct my post or leave it be, as your correction is nearby).
The Accutrons had a weirdness to them if you slept with one on your wrist: When the watch made contact with the pillow, you could hear that hum thru the pillow in some weird conduction (of sorts) and I had learn to use it as a sleep inducer for many years.
Interesting site for old watches is here >> http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?102pg8yv6jRanfft&ranfft&&2uswk

I have a Luminor Marina by Panerai (automatic).

FWIW: It was chosen as the "most authentic fake" Panerai..., before the clamp-down on clones.

I bought it 1992. Still running and looking good.
Oddly enough I think my Seiko was purchased not long after that so clearly Seiko was indeed styled after the Tag was issued. Not surprising. The Seiko is actually a nice looking watch, a little busy for my test as it is two tone and shiny, but nice nonetheless.

Finally, the audiophile watch: https://www.wired.co.uk/article/patek-philippe-minute-repeater-reference-5750

The key component is an oscillating disc of sapphire crystal, just 0.2 millimeters thick: The large vibration surface amplifies sound waves transmitted via a steel lever attached to the disc’s center and connected at its other end to the gongs. The system is similar to that used by early phonographs.

I'm skeptical about how much it will deviate when worn as a wrist watch and subjected to the shocks of wear and tear.

Think of it more as a highly-prized [*priced?] piece of artwork. The craftsmanship is second to none!
More akin to [ummmmm....] MC275 tube amp than an SMSL that causes testosterone spikes for some.
What made me cringe about the Patek photo was its nudity << the Playboy magazine, centerfold material exposé, which really is not fitting.
My personal favorite automatic watch is rarely removed from my wrist and when I must (e.g. shower); I usually wrap it with a towel to try to retain the temperature stability...

That's par for the course for watch magazine centerfold spreads.

Movement porn is the norm.

This really needs a video to illustrate:
Pretty remarkable IMO, but at $639,500, it ought to be.
The dial design makes the hands disappear, so you need the sound to tell the time!

You mean the cover glass? They attached the tuning fork to the glass so it’s like a little banjo that costs as much as 3 GT3 cars. Or 10 Teslas.

Have 'you' [?] ever carefully observed the watch advertisements?
A good example is @BoredErica post w/the Seiko and AnneKlein.
All I can tell you is that it has nothing to do with the fact that those 2 watches are just plain 'quartz' watches (and will require future battery replacements). [meh!]
The only other hint you will get from me is that the above Q has something to do w/the big and the small hands....

That Seiko photo also shows a weakness of the mechanicals/gearing; as the date window shows a misalignment in its display.

Dunno, don't care. I think it's cute and it fits on my arm. Plus it's cheap. :^)
... sez the person who "don't care" and states "I hate hiss in speakers".
My mate must have over 2 dozen very "cute" and very "cheap" quartz pieces in her collection.
Not very unlike cheap audio gear; I am the one that ends up changing those e-waste watch batteries, every few months.
I've gifted her a few automatic timepieces over the decades. But like you, she just "don't care" and automatics do need continuous wearing/movement!

A: The watch advertisements usually show the 'big/little' hands @1010Hours

It's funny you think that's a contradiction and pointing it out is an own. I don't like hiss in speakers, therefore I must care how expensive my watch is. Yeah, I'm sure that logic follows. hf with that one buddy.

I am one who doesn't give a rip about watches (the only reason I own one is that my wife gave me an ENICAR that she liked) & said that I should wear it when we are dressed up for occasions like going to dinner with others. But I despise shoddy lawn equipment, stereo equipment, etc. I do care about form (which usually doesn't enter the picture for me), certainly not until after function & durability are in place.
