Hello,

I'm looking for a defective NAD M12 or NAD M50.2 for parts — specifically to extract the touchscreen display module (UMSH-8868MD-3T, Microtips Technology).

Background: my M12 has developed an intermittent touchscreen fault. After thorough investigation including analysis of the M12 service manual, the defective component has been identified as the UMSH-8868MD-3T display module — an OEM-exclusive part manufactured by Microtips Technology solely for the M12 and M50.2. It is not available through any component distributor worldwide.

The only viable source is a salvage unit with an intact screen.

I'm based in Belgium and would prefer a European seller to avoid customs and shipping complications. The audio and electrical condition of the unit doesn't matter — I only need the display to be physically intact.

If you have a faulty M12 or M50.2 sitting in a cupboard, or know someone who does, please get in touch.

Many thanks,
Niko

Can't you wait for a couple of months?

That's from Mouser, plus it will be brand new and 100% genuine part.
They should be pretty similar.

Thanks.

That not exactly the same reference...
I cannot find the specifications of the UMSH-8868MD-3T in the NAD M12 (or 50.2) and see how it would compare to that "pretty similar" component.
E.g. It might need changes in the Firmware for which NAD obviously does not provide the source code...
Now, if it might be worth to give a it a try...

Thanks.

OEM parts are usually very similar to custom ones, you can compare its datasheet with the one you have in hand and decide.
There's more to compare available as well.

Checked.
Not the same size : 3,5 inch vs 4,3 on NAD M12
Not same connectivity and not same controller.
But thank you for the try ;)
