Wait for RSL Speedwoofer 10S or jump on SVS sale?

[agiletiger]

Anyone have a general idea when RSL will have more of the Speedwoofer's in stock? I am asking since it looks like I can get SVS SB 2000 for just a little bit more for their Presidents' Day sale. So, should I continue to wait it out or jump on the SVS? Looking to get 2...

RSL has been out of stock for months now.

Also the SVS you’re looking at is sealed vs the RSL slot port.

I'm taking a risk with the slot port I guess. I have a 20 month old daughter and so many people have said not to get ported subs but the price and the fact that the slots are small is allowing me to disregard this rule. If anyone strongly believes that even the RSL's slot ports are screaming to be stuffed with toys and the like, I'll go ahead and get the SVS subs.

The SB-2000 has a better CEA-2010 score compared to the RSL and it's sealed anyways. I would get that now instead of waiting for the speedwoofer to come back in stock and potentially be filled with toys.

I don't have any measurements, but I'm reasonably happy with my 10S. I put it on an Iso-Acoustics sub-platform and run it at ~25% on the dial and it nicely fills out the low end, gives drums some of the chest kick, and doesn't rattle the floor. So far no neighbors have complained either.

2 SB2000 with discount = ~ $1140

2 Speedwoofer = ~ $800

Aw crap! SVS sold out of the $499 ones!

Of course they did cause a single SB2000 Pro is $1000 and adds little to nothing in terms of meaningful real world output over an SB2000.

I’d probably still go SVS, but just a! FYI:

I saw that. It would really depend on what the rear vent looks like.
