VWestlife - Phony Oldies: Re-Recordings & How to Avoid Them

I can't believe he made a video about this. I thought he gonna talk about records till the end of time.

 
Well... I have a couple of CD of re-recorded 50's music (original artists) and it DOES sound much better than any 1050s recordings, and I think they are stereo. (I'm not sure when they were re-recorded.) I'm not quite old enough to be really-familiar with the originals so I'm not disappointed that they might sound different performance-wise.

...When I hear a re-recording of songs from "my era" where I do remember the original, then I do prefer the one I'm familiar with. Ther's some kind of emotional attachment. But sometimes I don't mind a different performance (or a different artist). I actually have quite a few live recordings (including DVDs) and I don't mind hearing an alternative recording/performance as long as I also have the original.
 
I personally don't like any re-recordings, it feels like I'm being lied to regardless if I have the OG recording. Sure re-recordings have a new stereo mix and "high fidelity" but Eric Records does DES on original recordings and sounds better than the re-recordings. Even when the original records sound worse, at least its original and not being made because there old and need money. For live recordings, I like to see video alongside it like a eagles concert not a CD.
 
I bought a CD that was compilation of 60s music by the original artists... That was the name of the group, "The Original Artists". It was horrible every which way.
