Don't jump to any conclusions.
It may depend upon the frequency response and/or the EQ of those meters...

It's a Squeezebox Touch, but the SB Classic can also do VU. :) It's an analog skin for a digital player. :)
Pretty kool. Never seen one before.

why? does it run out of coolant like an english sports car from the 60's?
Ya never know. LOL
I've never seen that before either.
I guess a gauge of how hard your using the amp but rare none the less.
Here's what the manual says.

With any audio unit, the real sound quality cannot be obtained
immediately after the power is turned on, and warming up is required
to make the unit exhibit its full performance. As time passes after the
power has been turned ON, the temperatures of different parts of the
unit become constant and the electrolytic capacitors become active.
This meter allows to check the warm-up condition of the unit.
The meter needle starts to swing gradually in a little while after the
power is turned ON and reaches about 2/3 of the meter’s full scale in
about 30 minutes. Now the unit has almost been warmed up and can
reproduce music with its original performance.
The meter positions immediately after turning power on and at the
end of warming up and the time taken for warming up are variable
depending on the temperature, ventilation and other conditions of the
listening room where the unit is located.

I have a 34 inch, 3440x1440 screen in the studio with plenty of screen real estate. Paired with Roon this pretty much gives me all the information I need about the full spectrum and bass channels in my active set up. It is only displayed when I have Roon in the foreground as the new Mac OS Stage Manager or Mission Control tucks it all away when I'm doing something else or tired of all that bling. They are all AU plugins hosted by Hang Loose Convolver app.

Found a used Lenco 3310 but recapped recently, couldn’t resist to experiment its big Watt-meters at a cheap price.
It looks nice in real, the meters seem accurate with my 4ohms load, and it's fun to look at.

Based on what I found online it's not a great unit, but so far on my midbass only it’s ok, enough power and I can't find anything wrong in the sound (eact same FR reponse than the hypex it replaced).

Am I the only member that has 2 meters in their avatar? Eyerex has one and I got him beat. Here are two more. All of these are the real deal and are useful for their intended purpose.
