I was peer-pressured to horizantally-mount a pair of these, under my monitor speakers' pedestals.View attachment 376210
They did not improve the music at all, but I'll leave them where they are... ready to impress @amirm, in case he knocks on my front door.
Yes, they do have a MIC in each unit and they "calibrate" automatically and probably by a variable gain stage[?].Do they have a built in microphone, or do they need to be connected to the source somehow?

No it is not an amp, and those only look like VU meters!
It is a gadget I put together many years ago, to test and match those big Russian tubes, as there was nothing available to buy in.
The little toggle in the middle changes the range.
Only a couple of hundred volts .Who needs a case - I'm sure it's perfectly safe.

Rectifier tubes, used in OTL amps these days.RF transmitter tubes?
They look so bad a-s.
Beautiful ole Mc amp !One of my meters. It's tough to take a decent pic because of the reflections.

Beautiful ole Mc amp !
Thank you; the flexi was last winter's project which kept me busy for quite a while. It's butcher block which is expensive and I was very nervous about ruining or screwing up something. Thankfully that didn't happen.Nothing like a big McIntosh to say Big American Iron.
And that Flexi-rack @motorstereo , that's beautiful. A lot of laminated timber and painted steel threaded rods there. Impressed!
Yep.The only problem with those 147lb amps is it's getting really tough for this old guy to lift and move them alone. The last time was this winter when I made new butcher block stands for them.
